UEL and ispace are co-hosting a booth at Drone Show Korea (DSK) 2026.

We are working together on a journey to the Moon. DSK is Asia's largest platform for advanced unmanned systems and aerospace business, held at BEXCO, Busan, from Feb 25 (Wed) to Feb 27 (Fri).

Unmanned Exploration Laboratory(UEL) participated in the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI) booth at “ELECS KOREA 2026.” ✨

ELECS KOREA is the largest international exhibition in Korea’s electrical industry and is being held at COEX Seoul from February 4 to 6.

We are conducting joint research to apply the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI)’s core electric propulsion system technologies for aerospace mobility to UEL’s lunar exploration rover.

UEL continues to lead Korea’s private-sector–driven space exploration technology and pursue innovative lunar exploration mobility research. 🌕🌌

We will continue to move farther, deeper—into space. 🚀

무인탐사연구소가 지난 1월 19일, 외교부 청사에서 진행된
‘외교부-미 상무부 우주산업 간담회’에 참여했습니다!💫🪐

이날 간담회에서 무인탐사연구소는 한미 우주산업 라운드테이블에 참가해
미국 상무부 관계자들과 함께 양국 우주 산업의 실질적인 협력 방안에 대해 의견을 나누었습니다.

미 상무부 우주상업실장 겸 환경 관측,예측 차관보와 한국 외교부 기후환경과학외교국 국장이 참석하는 한미 기업간담회에 무인탐사연구소가 참여하게 되어 뜻깊습니다!

이번 간담회는 상무부 우주상업실장 임명 이후 첫 외국 기업들과의 간담회입니다.
2025년 12월 트럼프 대통령의 유인 달착륙, 달 표면 원자로 발사 준비 등 포괄적 우주 정책 목표를 담은 ’미국의 우주 우위 확보‘ 행정명령을 기반으로
향후 상업 우주 정책 방향에 대한 우리 정부와 기업의 이해를 제고하기 위함입니다.

외교부 역시 우리 기업의 미국 등 해외 진출을 목표로 간담회를 진행했습니다.

앞으로도 저희 무인탐사연구소는
초소형 달 탐사 로버 개발과 독자 우주기술 역량 확보를 통해
지속 가능한 대한민국 우주 생태계를 만들어가겠습니다.

UEL(Unmanned Exploration Laboratory) participated in the “ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs – U.S. Department of Commerce Space Industry Roundtable,” held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 19! 💫🪐

At the event, UEL joined the Korea–U.S. Space Industry Roundtable, engaging in discussions with officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce on practical cooperation opportunities between the two countries’ space industries.

It was especially meaningful for UEL to take part in this Korea–U.S. business roundtable, which was attended by the Director of the U.S. Office of Space Commerce and Assistant Secretary for Observation and Prediction, as well as the Director-General for Climate, Environment, and Science Diplomacy of the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Moving forward, UEL will continue to help build a sustainable space ecosystem in Korea through the development of ultra-small lunar exploration rovers and the advancement of independent space technology capabilities.

A step toward exploring lunar lava tubes.

UEL × KAIST joint research has been published in Science Robotics.
This study presents a deployable, airless wheel mobility concept
designed for stable exploration of lunar pits and lava tubes—
one of the most challenging environments on the Moon.

COSMIC CubeSat Achieves First Contact

COSMIC, a 3U CubeSat launched aboard KSLV-II (Nuri) Flight 4,
successfully made its first contact at 01:30 AM (KST) on November 28
via the CONTEC ground station.

The satellite carries UEL’s Lunar Rover Onboard Computer (OBC)
and Motor Driver (ESC), which are planned to undergo
in-orbit demonstration as part of the mission.

This initial contact confirms that the satellite
has begun sending basic telemetry responses,
and additional system checks are scheduled in the upcoming phases.

UEL participated in the UNOOSA “Commercial Lunar Landscape and Policy Needs Conference 2025,” held at the Vienna International Centre.

This conference brought together global space agencies, policymakers, and commercial lunar operators to discuss how we can safely and sustainably prepare for more than 100 lunar missions planned by 2030. It served as an important platform for aligning global perspectives on lunar orbit operations and surface activities.

Our VP, Jaeho Lee, joined as a panelist in Day 2 · Session 2: Lunar Surface Issues, contributing insights on small-scale rover mobility, lunar surface hazards, and the operational challenges faced by future missions.

The Smart Construction, Safety & AI Expo 2025 (SCX 2025) has successfully concluded.

We sincerely thank all industry professionals who visited our booth and showed interest in UEL’s Construction Safety Monitoring UGV, developed with KICT.

During the exhibition, we had inspiring discussions with construction experts and partners, sharing insights on how space technologies are being spun off into smart construction to enhance safety, automation, and efficiency.

Every conversation reminded us that exploration has no boundaries — only new places to make a difference.

At the New Technology Pavilion (Space·AAM), we showcased UEL’s key innovations — the Scarab lunar rover, the UEL-Y-Sys CubeSat,
and the UGV, a spin-off ground rover developed for defense and construction applications.

While the Scarab and UEL-Y-Sys represent UEL’s contributions to Korea’s space exploration programs, the UGV demonstrates how our robotics and mobility technologies can extend beyond space to terrestrial industries.

During the KASA SBIR Stage 1 Company Seminar, UEL also presented the progress and results of its lunar rover development, sharing its ongoing efforts for Korea’s private-led lunar exploration.
