Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has provided LAK 525,500,000 to support comprehensive health screenings for residents in seven target villages around the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine, reinforcing its continued commitment to community health and sustainable development.

The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Vilabouly District Health Office and Vilabouly District Hospital under the 2026 Health Impact Assessment (HIA) program. The program aims to monitor community health trends, promote early detection of potential health risks, and support improved access to healthcare services for local residents.

Health screening activities were conducted from 20 March to 10 April 2026 by a team of medical specialists using modern medical equipment. 405 residents from seven villages (Na Then Hia, Na Kachan, Xieng Lae, Na Ke, Mai Na Meng, Na Pho, and Nam Kheun Nai) participated. This included 87 children under five years old, and 318 residents aged between 6 and 70 years, covering adolescents, adults, and elderly community members.

The health services included blood tests for kidney function, liver function, and lipid profiles, as well as urinalysis, stool examinations, electrocardiograms, and digital chest X-rays for residents aged 60 and above. These examinations are designed to support early identification of health issues and enable timely advice, treatment, or referral where required.

In addition to providing direct health screening services, the program will contribute to the development of a 2026 community health database, which will be compared with baseline data collected in 2025. The findings will help the public health sector strengthen preventive healthcare planning, provide appropriate health guidance, and improve community understanding of medical and public health issues.

The initiative reflects LXML’s long-term commitment to supporting public health and improving quality of life in Vilabouly District. By working closely with local authorities and healthcare providers, LXML continues to support practical programs that promote safer, healthier, and more sustainable communities around the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine.

Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, 15 May 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has delivered a newly constructed surgical building to Vilabouly District Hospital, supporting efforts to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of public healthcare services for local communities.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Valiya Sichanthongthip, Deputy Party Secretary of Savannakhet Province; Mr. Souksakhone Phothilath, Party Secretary of Vilabouly District; Dr. Chanthala Phameesith, Head of the Savannakhet Provincial Health Department; and Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML. Representatives from district authorities, relevant government offices, the hospital management team, doctors, nurses, and other stakeholders also joined the ceremony.
Valued at US$135,000, the new surgical building is fully funded by LXML, with Vatthana Khounxap Construction Sole Co., Ltd. serving as the construction contractor.

The building is designed to support safe and efficient surgical services in line with medical requirements. It includes a general operating room, an infectious disease operating room, a pre-operative preparation room, a recovery room, an on-call doctor’s room, male and female changing rooms, a soiled linen storage room, a laundry room, a sterilization room, and a sterile storage room. The facility is also equipped with modern electrical and water supply systems to support safe medical operations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Saman Aneka said the project reflects LXML’s continued commitment to strengthening public health infrastructure in Vilabouly District and improving access to essential medical services for the local community.
“This surgical building will help enhance the capacity of Vilabouly District Hospital to provide timely, safe, and reliable treatment,” Mr. Saman said. “It will also help reduce the need for patient transfers to provincial hospitals, particularly for people in remote communities who may face challenges related to distance, time, and travel costs.”

Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, 15 May 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has delivered a community-based headworks and gravity-fed water system project in Kok Mark Village, Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, to help address local water shortages and support sustainable agricultural production.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Phouvanath Bounsiphom, Deputy District Party Secretary and Chairman of the Vilabouly District Administrative Committee; Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML; representatives from relevant government offices; village authorities; and residents of Kok Mark Village.

Valued at LAK 313,570,000, the project was primarily funded by LXML and developed with strong community participation from the planning stage through to construction. Local residents contributed labour and locally available materials, reflecting a practical partnership approach between LXML, the government, and the community.

The project includes the construction of a 9m x 1.2m x 1m water intake headworks, a 4m x 4m x 2.4m water storage tank, and the installation of a 2,500-metre gravity-fed pipeline to channel water from natural sources to the village.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Saman Aneka said the project demonstrates LXML’s continued commitment to helping communities around the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine access reliable drinking water for household use, daily consumption, and agricultural activities.

“This project is designed to help ease water shortages, improve access to clean water, and support local production activities,” Mr. Saman said. “By strengthening water access, we hope to help create income opportunities, reduce poverty, and contribute to the long-term wellbeing of local communities.”

The handover of the Kok Mark Village gravity-fed water system reflects LXML’s ongoing commitment to responsible community development in the Sepon Gold-Copper Mine area. It also strengthens cooperation between LXML, local authorities, and communities in building practical, sustainable solutions that improve quality of life and support rural development.

The beneficiary organizations include the Wat Bakeo Silimoungkhoun Foundation and the Phommathep Foundation Savannakhet, both of which play an important role in emergency response, road accident assistance, humanitarian support, and community rescue services across the province.

Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has fulfilled its 2025 profit tax obligation to the Lao government, with a total payment of 2,200,952,209,498 kip (approximately US$102.37 million).

Vientiane Capital, 30 April 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has fulfilled its 2025 profit tax obligation to the Government of the Lao PDR with a total payment of LAK 2,200,952,209,498 (approximately USD 102.37 million). The official handover ceremony took place at the Tax Department, Ministry of Finance.

The payment was formally handed over by Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML and received by Mr. Khamphan Phanthoulack, Acting Director General of the Tax Department. The ceremony was attended by representatives from relevant government agencies, stakeholders, and LXML technical staff.

In his remarks, Mr. Aneka emphasized that the tax payment reflects the LXML’s continued commitment to responsible operations and strict compliance with the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR. He noted that transparent and timely tax contributions play a vital role in supporting national development through both direct and indirect economic benefits. Mr. Saman stated:

“This achievement also underscores LXML’s strong operational performance, consistently recognized with an A+ rating by the Government. Beyond economic contributions, we remain deeply committed to improving the livelihoods of local communities and supporting sustainable development.”

Mr. Saman further highlighted that LXML has successfully applied modern technologies to process low-grade gold ore, enabling the extension of mine life and sustaining production at approximately five tonnes of gold per year. This advancement has allowed LXML to defer its previously planned mine closure in 2023 and continue efficient operations.

Over more than two decades of operating the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine in Savannakhet Province, LXML has established itself as a leader in the mining sector and a benchmark for responsible mining practices. This includes strong environmental management and significant investments in infrastructure, education, and public health to strengthen surrounding communities.

Through its substantial contributions to the national socio-economic development, LXML remains committed to advancing sustainable mining practices in line with international standards, supporting the Lao PDR’s growing role in the regional mining industry.

In response, Mr. Khamphan commended LXML for its outstanding performance, recognizing the Company as a model enterprise that consistently operates in compliance with laws and regulations and has earned the trust of government leadership over many years. He expressed appreciation for LXML’s continued cooperation, particularly its support during periods of national fiscal constraint.

He further affirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with LXML, including support for future operational planning and eventual mine closure in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring long-term mutual benefits.

This significant tax contribution demonstrates that LXML views mining not merely as resource extraction, but as a pathway to transforming natural resources into long-term socio-economic value. LXML remains dedicated to ensuring that mining development in the Lao PDR progresses in balance with environmental stewardship and community well-being.
