We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for two 25 MVA, 150/20.8 kV transformers at the Biancavilla substation in Sicilia, Italy.

Filled with natural ester, these transformers represent a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering more sustainable and environmentally responsible energy solutions.

By adopting natural ester as an insulating fluid, we are not only enhancing safety and performance, but also actively reducing environmental impact, supporting the transition toward a greener and more resilient energy future.

Reinforcing our commitment to quality and performance, we have successfully completed the type testing of a 200kVA 11–22/0.42kV ONAN transformer at KEMA Labs, a CESI SpA division - recognized as a global leader in independent testing, inspection, and certification for the power industry - in the presence of our esteemed client, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC).

The transformer fully complies with EAC requirements and Tier 2 of the EU EcoDesign Directive 2009/125/EC, highlighting our commitment to high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that meet international standards.

On March 9, Matelec successfully shipped four 25 MVA power transformers to Italy, to be delivered to ENEL e-distribuzione under Booking Model 2.
The units will be installed in Castellaneta Marina Nord, Faggiano, and Fratta Polesine, supporting reliable electricity distribution and strengthening local energy infrastructure.

This achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to reliable delivery and technical excellence. Thank you to everyone involved for their dedication, professionalism, and teamwork throughout this process.

On 24 February 2026, under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Joe Issa-El-Khoury, Lebanese Ministry of Industry - وزارة الصناعة اللبنانية, the United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon convened senior public sector representatives, international partners and Lebanese industrial leaders at Beirut Digital District for Lebanese Industry for a Sustainable Future.

The high-level dialogue examined how evolving sustainability standards, CBAM requirements, certification systems and structured Monitoring, Reporting and Verification frameworks are reshaping export access and industrial competitiveness. A clear message emerged throughout the discussions: sustainability requirements are now embedded in global trade architecture, and credible data, documentation quality and coordinated institutional support are central to safeguarding Lebanon’s position in international markets.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Industry, our distinguished speakers and moderators, institutional partners, and the industrial community whose active engagement made this dialogue both substantive and forward-looking.
