ELCIM was initiated in 2001 by the Lebanese Government as a subdivision of the Industrial Research Institute IRI in order to improve the performance of Lebanese manufacturing enterprises.

From research to real-world solutions 🚀🇱🇧

The Final Demo Day at Lebanese American University - LAU marked an important milestone under the Innovate for Lebanon initiative, showcasing a validated, technology-driven solution addressing a real public-sector challenge.

Funded by the European Union in Lebanon through the Programme, led by Berytech, implemented by ELCIM at the Industrial Research Institute Lebanon (IRI), and in partnership with MITAI, the initiative supports Lebanese universities in turning research into practical, innovative solutions.

At LAU, the EU Delegation in Lebanon, project partners and relevant stakeholders joined the Final Demo Day to see the completed prototype in action, review the results and provide feedback.

The visit also included Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - USEK, which is developing a solution for water-efficient irrigation for smallholder farmers, alongside LAU’s Smart Energy Management for Public Institutions challenge.

Strengthening Innovation Across Lebanese Universities 🇱🇧

With the support of Lebanon Innovate, an European Union in Lebanon funded program led by Berytech and implemented by ELCIM at the Industrial Research Institute Lebanon (IRI), Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) across Lebanese universities have been established and strengthened to help researchers protect, develop, and connect their ideas with opportunities for impact.
