You haven't seen anything like this until you've been to 'The Silver Factory'...
An operating silverware factory located in the suburbs of Beirut city (Lebanon) that is switched into an underground club every few months. Factory by day/Club by night
Background information:
The idea of 'The Silver Factory' originated back in 2007 when I thought that one of the areas in the family's silverware f
actory was not too crowded with machines and kind of looked like a great venue for a club, since it had a high ceiling with good ventilation, a rectangular shape and an elevated glass room at one end that could serve as a very funky DJ booth. The idea of hosting underground music events there sounded a little crazy especially that everything had to be back in place by the next day to allow the factory workers to resume their activities but got the support of several friends who offered to help out in making the project come to life. Namely the twin Kabbani brothers behind the local Tshirt line 'Ashekman Urban wear' who offered to handle the visual identity and communication, 'Seebeck Audio' who supplied the venue with an outstanding sound system as well as artist Anne Steenkamp ,DJ Danny Samaha aka 'Dansz', producer 'Gme' as well as all of the 'Vibe Lebanon' crew (namely partner in crime Nicolas Badaro aka 'Nic') who all gave tremendous support in putting together the building blocks of the project. The Silver Factory now regularly hosts underground EDM artists playing several genres such as Breakbeat, Drum 'n bass, Dubstep and Techno-in general, music which is just like the whole setting, industrial. It has quickly become a landmark for local ravers who are not too fond of the often too 'classy' club scene of Beirut which only focuses on mainstream commercial music.
