Concrete slump test or slump cone test is to determine the workability or consistency of concrete mix prepared at the laboratory or the construction site during the progress of the work.The test is carried out using a metal mould in the shape of a conical frustum special to to measure the slump and determine the workability of the concrete and to determine its strength and the percentage of water to be added to the cement .The appropriate strength (slump) varies according to the concrete of the different facilities. In residential units, it is 10 mm, while in roads it is 25 mm, and in concrete works it is 50-60 mm.
اختبار هبوط الخراسانة (الباطون) و يُعرف أيضاً بالتهدّل، هو اختبار تجريبي يُستخدم للتحقق من اتساق واستقامة الخرسانة المُعدّة في المختبر أو في موقع البناء.
يتم ذلك من خلال استخدام مخروط خاص لقياس الهبوط وتحديد قابلية الخرسانة للتشغيل ولتحديد قوامها ونسبة الماء اللازم إضافته إلى الأسمنت. ويختلف القوام المناسب (الهبوط) طبقا لخرسانة المنشآت المختلفة، ففي الوحدات السكنية يكون 10 ملم، بينما في الطرق 25 ملم، وفي الأعمال خرسانية من 50 - 60 ملم

Difference between Civil Engineering and Architecture

Both Civil Engineering and Architecture are involved in planning and designing structures. However, Architecture focuses more on the spatial functionality and aesthetics of the development work and is more concerned with the artistry, look, feel and functionality of the design, while Civil Engineering concentrates on the structural elements of the design, making certain that the structure can endure normal and extreme conditions.
