❤️“The Hydraulic Heart of an Excavator” ❤️🏗️

The pump creates FLOW. Resistance to that flow creates PRESSURE.

When the bucket is moving freely, relatively little pressure may be required. When the bucket hits hard soil, resistance rises dramatically, so system pressure rises while the pump's control system adjusts displacement to meet the demand.

🛠️ Common symptoms of a worn main pump
If the pump or its control system has problems, an excavator may show:

Slow boom/arm/bucket movement
Weak digging force
Slow travel
Weak swing
Excessive hydraulic-oil temperature
Abnormal pump noise
Excessive case-drain flow
Difficulty achieving specified system pressure

However, these symptoms do not automatically mean the pump itself is defective—control valves, pilot pressure, suction restrictions, contaminated oil, relief valves and other components can produce similar symptoms.
