Hybrid-ready does not mean you have backup power. Not yet.

It is one of the most common misunderstandings we hear on site. Hybrid-ready means the system was planned so a battery can be added later—the inverter, the protection, the wiring and the physical space were all specified with that upgrade in mind.

Until the battery is actually installed, the system still shuts down in an outage, exactly like a standard on-grid system.

Cross 180 units? Your bill changes gear.

Under the PUCSL domestic tariﬀ eﬀective 11 May 2026, a household using more than 180 units a month is billed:

• First 180 units — Rs. 32.50 per unit
• Every unit above 180 — Rs. 100.00 per unit
• Fixed charge — Rs. 2,500 per month

The units above the threshold are the expensive ones. They are also the first block a correctly sized solar system takes oﬀ your bill.
