Then the Aeronautical Engineering stream is the perfect runway to take off toward your dreams!
We fly through fascinating airspaces such as:
- Aerodynamics
- Aviation Regulations
- Aircraft Systems and maintenance
- Avionic Systems
- Turbo Machinery
- Aircraft Propulsion
- CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
- Aircraft Structures/Design/Analysis

Beyond the core content of this stream, you will tackle real-world engineering problems and applications, starting with tools like MATLAB and SolidWorks as early as Semester 2. Oh, and you get to build ACTUAL GLIDERS!

Our research areas in glider design, morphing wings, wind turbines, and supersonic nozzles (an many more) are at the forefront of shaping the future of the aviation industry. These innovations not only enhance efficiency and sustainability but also pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in aerodynamics, propulsion systems, and aerospace manufacturing. By pushing the boundaries of technology and engineering, our aim is to revolutionize air travel.

Internships at Sri Lankan Airlines and the Sri Lanka Air Force offer a unique, fun, and educational opportunity that only the 10 of you will have the chance to experience. Our graduates enter a Stratosphere of employment opportunities (especially Overseas) in core aerospace/aviation, design and manufacturing, energy sector, research, academia and much more.

Youโ€™ll have the chance to work with highly experienced lecturers, access state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, receive guidance from friendly and supportive seniors, and even sit in the cockpit of a MiG-27 fighter aircraft.
