Eco Venture Ltd. appreciates the Government of Liberia, headed by the president, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, for the launch of the AREST-Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) and the fifteen (15) County Development Agenda (CDA). We want to say a very big thank you, most especially for the inclusion of renewable energy as a key priority area during the implementation of Liberiaβs ambitious five-years development plan.
According to program 35 of the AAID, the Government of Liberia (GOL) committed to supporting a sustainable energy future for Liberia by increasing access to safe and affordable energy and fuel sources while reducing GHG emissions and reducing the risk and vulnerability of climate change impact on the energy sector, including support for the adoption of more than 200,000 affordable improved cook stoves (ICS) by households. Out of the national target, we are committed to ensuring 10,000 homes and businesses are energy efficient in Liberia with Cookay Quick Eco-stoves.
As one of Liberia's leading renewable energy social enterprises specialized in providing innovative, high-quality, sustainable, off-grid e-cooking services for residential and commercial purposes as well as supplying biocharcoal briquettes, we will recommend the following:
1. Support the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency to develop a national Clean Cooking Strategy that will set forth a clear road map for the countryβs clean cooking sector.
2. Financial support to Liberia-owned SMEs within the clean cooking industry. By doing so, the GOL will be empowering SMEs to increase the ICS supply chain and reduce cost, thereby enhancing the affordability of locally made Improved Cook Stoves (ICS) to the Liberia populace.
Eco Venture is open to partnering with the government of Liberia through the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency, NGOs, and development partners as we achieve the ambition set forth in AAID.
