CADGIRLS: Certification Program!!🎓

We are so proud to have certificated four girls along with our two facilitators.
Out of all the designs, Aretha’s design stood out the most which led her to win the laptop as seen in the pictures below. The laptop is meant to encourage her to continue designing as she has been persistent and consistent throughout the training.

As we pointed out during the program, every girl who got certificated did an amazing work throughout the training and they ought to be proud! We did not only teach them AutoCAD, we all built a community of support that will stay with us forever, and that alone is an accomplishment.

Again, we look forward to continue the journey we’ve already started.
Thank you SHE-CAN and Universal Outreach for your support. We also appreciate Mercy, Mclina, Charlotte, and Jarius for gracing our event with their presence. Most importantly, we appreciate God for strengthening us to see this through!🙏🏽

CADGIRLS: Day 10!!!!!🥳
It’s the last day of CADGIRLS two weeks training!!😁
We stayed at the training center quite late to ensure that everyone completed the major parts of their design before the certification program tomorrow!

These young engineering folks are the epitome of persistency! By the end of the training, we already had other students guiding other students. It brings us so much pride to see how much we’ve accomplished in such a short time.
Can you imagine if we had more time and more funds?😊

Tomorrow, we’ll be certificating 4 trainees who will have successfully completed their final project along with the facilitators for their tireless guidance. Again, we’re so excited for the next stage of CADGIRLS!

Thanks to God, SHE-CAN, Universal Outreach, trainers, and everyone else who’s been supportive throughout. Your support never went unnoticed.😊

CADGIRLS: Day 8!!

Can’t believe it’s only two more days before we certificate these hard working young ladies!
Majority of the trainees started working on their final project today, and from how fast they are moving, they will probably be done tomorrow.

We are building a community of competent young women engineers, who care not only about the work they do, but about the people they work with. We’re so excited to see the next chapter of this journey.

CADGIRLS: Days 6 & 7

The below pictures reflect the work that was yesterday and today.
Yesterday, the trainees worked hard to complete the practice floor plan, and today two trainees, Aretha and Sehlon, completed it. Below are pictures of the completed floor plans and the progress of other trainees.

Tomorrow, the trainees will bring a draft of their final project which they will draw in autoCAD and have a panel of judges decide which drawing deserves the incentive.

We’re rooting for all of them; may the best design win!😊

CADGIRLS: Day 5

Today marks the second day of working on the practice floor plan, and we’ve already made tremendous progress with the people present.
Due to the funeral of one of our engineering comrades, the attendance of the group was reduced today. Folks were saying goodbye to a friend and sister, and it was more important for them to be there.

The last week of CADGIRLS will begin on Monday, with more time to work on the practice floor plan, giving folks a chance to catch up to the others.

As always, we are grateful to our supporters. This wouldn’t be possible without the support from SHE-CAN, Universal Outreach, my co-trainers, my traineees, and you.😊

CADGIRLS: Day 4!!

I apologize for not updating you yesterday. So far, yesterday was our busiest day! We kept working even past our end time.

We started our general floor plan yesterday where the girls draw with our assistance. This is intended to prepare them for their final project.
Thanks to SHE-CAN and Universal Outreach for supporting this training. Not forgetting my hardworking and committed volunteers, who are consistent and very invested in making this a success. I couldn’t have gotten a better team.
I’ll be sure to update you today on the progress we will make. Thanks again y’all.😊

CADGIRLS: Day 3

It’s already been three days, y’all!😁
Like all the other days, we learned, ate, and connected beyond formalities!❤️

Today, we learned about AutoCAD’s toolbars, and commands, and did some exercises.
We ate cassava gravy, (one of my personal favorites), and Aretha joked around about the different ways Boyerence, Diamond, and me teach. We had a good laugh!😂

Hey y’all,

CADGIRLS training began yesterday, and today was better than the last!
So far, we’ve learned, eaten, and most importantly, we’ve built a connection through fun moments.
As you see in these pictures, we are not only learning autoCAD, we’re building a community of powerful young women.

Thanks again to my wonderful volunteers, Boyerence Joy Johnson and Diamond Musu Vulue for being an inspiration to our trainees.

As we discussed during the live, the general zoom info session is today at 6pm GMT.

We will be giving final announcements about where the training will be held, what incentive will be given, who I’m partnering with, and what next steps I’m considering after the two weeks training. Additionally, you will have the chance to voice out your questions and suggestions.

Hey y’all!

Thanks again to everyone who shared our previous post, and encouraged young women to apply. We’ve received amazing applications so far, but we hope to receive more before making our final selections.

We realized that some folks have questions, so we’ve organized three events: Facebook live, and 2 info sessions via zoom. Two of which is intended to address the concens of the general public, and the last one will basically be orientation for the selected candidates.

Please join us on the Facebook live tomorrow @6:30pm Liberia time on this page as we provide details on the team you will be entrusting to educate you or your child and information about the first info session too. It’s also come to our knowledge that many people may not be familiar with zoom, so we will talk briefly about what it is and how you can join the 1st info session. More information about the info sessions will be given, so please be there.

The application deadline is April 21 @ 11:59pm, so we are hoping that these events give people the opportunity to ask their questions and express their concerns before or after applying. Your questions are significant to our improvements, so please ask away!
