Girls Tech Club | International Women’s Day 2026

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day under the global theme “Give to Gain.”

This theme reminds us of a powerful truth: when we invest in women and girls, everyone benefits. When women are given access to education, technology, mentorship, and opportunities, they do not only grow individually, they uplift families, strengthen communities, and drive innovation.

At Girls Tech Club, we believe that empowering girls with digital skills, leadership opportunities, and confidence is one of the most powerful investments we can make for the future. Every training, mentorship session, and opportunity we provide is a step toward building a generation of young women who are creators, innovators, and leaders in technology.

This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting girls and young women to thrive in the digital world. By giving opportunities, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, we create a future where women are not just participants in technology but leaders shaping it.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Abuse does not always leave bruises.

If this sounds familiar, it is not normal. It is not love.

Speak out. Seek support. Refer survivors to trusted services.

We must stop normalizing abuse.

GBV is never justified — not by culture, not by tradition, not by silence.

Silence protects violence.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just physical abuse. It includes:

• Emotional abuse
• Sexual violence
• Economic control
• Online harassment
• Threats and intimidation

GBV is not culture. It is abuse.

Girls Tech Club has just concluded another phase of its Digital Ethics training, marking an important milestone in what has always been a continuous learning process rather than a one-time activity.

This phase focused on empowering her staff, and volunteers, equipping them with practical knowledge on responsible digital behavior, online safety, and ethical participation in digital spaces.

These activities build on the Digital Ethics training conducted by the UN Women Liberia consultant in November last year, and are designed to be rolled out within communities to further reinforce key concepts and best practices learned during the sessions.

As part of this process, youth groups are encouraged to:
• Continue internal digital ethics learning sessions within their institutions
• Support online advocacy, to amplify ethical digital practices and positive messaging online

At Girls Tech Club, we believe digital ethics is not an event, it is a journey of continuous learning, practice, and community engagement. Together, we are shaping a safer, more responsible digital future for young people.

Thank you partners, Accountability Lab Liberia and UN WOMEN Liberia
