A look back at one of our completed projects in the Netherlands, where the Gridin's Group team supported repair and upgrade activities for the pipe-laying vessel CORAL DO ATLÂNTICO at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam B.V.

As part of the project, our team was involved in the prefabrication and installation of new steel structures, including:

» Crane pedestal prefabrication – 171,570 kg;
» Boom rest prefabrication – 52,887 kg;
» Installation of the new boom rest and additional steel works.

The prefabrication activities were carried out at Damen Botlek between early 2025 and early 2026. A team of 40 Gridin's Group specialists worked alongside the project partners to complete the assigned scope, focusing on safe ex*****on, accurate fabrication, and meeting the required quality standards.
Projects involving large offshore vessels require close coordination between the vessel owner, shipyard, and specialist contractors. Good planning, communication, and experienced teams are essential to ensure that every stage of the work is completed smoothly.
This project remains a great example of our team’s expertise in supporting complex maritime and offshore infrastructure.

🌊The Maiden Voyage of Legend of the Seas

A remarkable milestone in global shipbuilding has been reached as one of the world’s largest and most advanced cruise ships, Legend of the Seas, has departed from the Turku shipyard on its maiden voyage.
This next-generation Icon-class cruise ship is the third vessel of its kind built at Finland’s Meyer Turku shipyard. A fourth ship is already under construction, with the welders and hull assembly team of Gridin's Group currently contributing to the project.

During the night of June 18, the vessel left the waters of the Turku archipelago and began its journey toward the Mediterranean Sea, where it will welcome its first passengers this summer. After the season ends, Legend of the Seas will relocate to the Caribbean before returning to European itineraries in 2027.
The ship stands out not only for its size but also for its impressive onboard facilities. Guests can enjoy seven swimming pools, ten whirlpools, a surf simulator, the unique AquaDome aquatic entertainment venue, and a Broadway-style theater. Measuring 365 meters in length and 65 meters in width, the vessel comfortably accommodates approximately 5,600 passengers, while its maximum capacity reaches an impressive 7,600 guests. Thanks to its scale and innovative features, Legend of the Seas is considered one of the largest and most technologically advanced cruise ships in the world.

We are proud that the Gridin's Group team contributed to this exceptional project. Our specialists participated in the assembly and welding of the ship’s structures, helping bring to life one of the most ambitious shipbuilding projects in Europe.

Our team continues steel fitting, assembly, and welding operations on large ship blocks, ensuring every section meets the required quality standards before delivery.
One last inspection and completed blocks are transported to partner yards for final integration into the vessel.
