At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Alpine has revisited one of its most recognisable models with the A310 Vision, a striking concept inspired by the original Alpine A310, first introduced in 1971.

Rather than recreating the past, the French manufacturer has taken the car’s distinctive proportions and reinterpreted them through modern design and engineering.

At just 1.18 metres tall and 2.03 metres wide at the rear, the A310 Vision has an unusually low, muscular stance. Its aluminium bodywork incorporates Formula 1-inspired aerodynamic surfaces, an S-shaped bonnet channel, a two-piece rear wing and blade-shaped taillights that contribute to airflow management.

Even the headlights have a theatrical touch, emerging from the bodywork when the car starts.

Beneath the design lies Alpine’s new Performance Platform, developed to support the brand’s next generation of electric sports cars while allowing greater freedom in vehicle proportions and packaging.

For now, the A310 Vision remains a one-off design study, with no production plans announced.

But perhaps that’s what makes concepts like this so interesting. They give designers and engineers the freedom to explore ideas that conventional production constraints might otherwise leave on the drawing board.

And in this case, the result is a compelling reminder that automotive heritage and future technology can make a rather beautiful combination.

There is something special about seeing an aircraft slowly become real.

For months, it exists as drawings, moulds, composite parts and hundreds of small decisions.

Then one day, you step back and there it is.

A complete shape. A real aircraft. Something that was once only an idea, now standing in front of you.

Before an aircraft takes to the sky, it spends a long time in pieces.

For a while, you’re focused on one thing at a time: a shape to refine, a composite part to make, a detail that needs another look.

Then the pieces start coming together, and you realise you can walk around the plane you’ve been working on.

That’s what we captured here. It looks like an aircraft, but you can still see it being built. We wanted to share these photos while it’s at this stage.

We’ve watched it come together piece by piece, and it feels good to finally step back and see the whole thing. We hope this is as exciting for you to see as it is for us to share.

This might actually be one of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s most interesting launches lately, and it isn’t a supercar.

While everyone is talking about the upcoming GR GT, Toyota has also launched the GR Kart in Japan, a proper racing kart priced at around $2,500.

And I really like the thinking behind it.

The idea is to make motorsport easier to get into, especially for families. The pedals and steering wheel are adjustable, so the same kart can be used by drivers of very different heights.

It weighs just 183 pounds, uses a 215 cc engine, and Toyota has clearly thought about what happens when you are not actually on the track too.

It can fit fully assembled inside Noah and Voxy minivans, it can be stored vertically without draining the fuel or oil, and it uses a belt drive instead of a traditional chain.

There is even an app with instructional content and a digital driver passport for participating circuits.

Akio Toyoda has spoken before about wanting motorsport to feel more accessible, more like a sport people can simply decide to try.

And honestly, something like this probably does more for that idea than another extremely expensive performance car ever could.

For now, the GR Kart is only available in Japan through selected circuits and GR Garages.

I’d love to see this concept reach more markets.

Sustainability often starts with a simple engineering question: how can we achieve the same performance with less?

Less material. Less weight. Less energy.

In automotive, aerospace and marine applications, lightweight composite structures can improve efficiency while maintaining the strength and performance the application demands.

For us, that is one of the most interesting aspects of composite manufacturing: sustainability does not have to mean compromise. Sometimes, better engineering simply means doing more with less.
