💡 3 ways to get better answers from your AI coach

VeloWatt’s AI coach already knows your FTP, CTL, recent rides, and power zones — but the way you ask matters. Three tips for sharper, more useful answers:

1️⃣ Anchor it in time.
“Today is April 29, my A-race is June 15” or start conversation "Today is 2026-04-29.....?" gives the coach a timeline to work with. Weeks remaining, phase of training, taper windows — everything becomes easier to reason about.

2️⃣ Tell it your constraints.
“I only have 8 hours this week” or “weather looks bad Tuesday” unlocks realistic adjustments instead of theoretical ideals.

3️⃣ Ask for the “why”.
After getting a recommendation, ask “why this and not intervals?” or “why so much endurance this week?”. The explanations teach you how your training works.

Why I built VeloWatt, in one story.

Two years ago I was using TrainingPeaks. Paid subscription, real training plan, serious about racing.

Then Monday happened. Work deadline, kid got sick, rain. I skipped the interval session.

I opened TrainingPeaks on Tuesday. The plan was still there. Untouched. 4x8min threshold waiting for me like nothing happened. As if Monday didn’t exist.

So now what? Do I push Monday’s workout to Tuesday and ruin Wednesday’s recovery? Do I skip it entirely and lose the training stimulus? Do I manually rebuild the whole week? I’m not a coach. I don’t know the right answer. That’s why I was paying for a platform.

That moment — staring at a plan that didn’t care I was human — was the moment VeloWatt started.

Here’s how it works now:

Skip 1 or 2 days — VeloWatt redistributes the training load mathematically. No AI call needed. The math is based on TSS targets from Coggan’s methodology, balanced against Seiler’s intensity distribution research. It just works.

Skip 3+ days — the plan regenerates fully. The AI re-reads your fitness, your A-race date, your remaining time, and rebuilds the path forward. Friel’s periodization as the skeleton, Mujika’s tapering research for the peaking phase.

No manual rebuilding. No guilt about broken plans. No staring at a workout from yesterday that doesn’t apply to today anymore.

Kodėl sukūriau VeloWatt — viena istorija.

Prieš dvejus metus naudojausi TrainingPeaks. Mokėjau už prenumeratą, rimtas treniruočių planas, ruošiausi varžyboms.

Tada atėjo pirmadienis. Darbo deadline’as, vaikas susirgo, lyja. Praleidau intervalų treniruotę.

Antradienį atidariau TrainingPeaks. Planas stovėjo toks pat. Nepaliestas. 4x8min threshold laukė manęs, tarsi pirmadienio nebuvo.

Ir ką dabar? Perkelti pirmadienio treniruotę į antradienį ir sugažinti trečiadienio atsigavimą? Visai ją praleisti ir prarasti stimulą? Perplanuoti visą savaitę rankomis? Aš nesu treneris. Neišmanau teisingo atsakymo. Užtat ir mokėjau už platformą.

Ta akimirka — žiūrint į planą, kuriam nesvarbu, kad esu žmogus — gimė VeloWatt.

Kaip dabar veikia:

Praleidai 1 ar 2 dienas — VeloWatt matematiškai perskirsto krūvį per savaitę. AI net nereikia. Matematika remiasi Coggan metodologijos TSS pagrindais, subalansuota pagal Seiler intensyvumo pasiskirstymo tyrimus. Tiesiog suveikia.

Praleidai 3+ dienas — planas pilnai atsinaujina. AI iš naujo perskaito tavo formą, A-race datą, likusį laiką, ir perstato kelią į priekį. Friel periodizacija kaip karkasas, Mujika tyrimai dėl taper’io prieš varžybas.

Jokio perplanavimo rankomis. Jokios kaltės dėl sulaužyto plano. Jokių treniruočių žiūrėjimo, kurios šiandien jau nebetinka.
