The first big announcement of the year comes from our German colleagues. After intensive preparation, our Group company Plasta GmbH is opening a new chapter. From 1 January 2026, Plasta GmbH fully transitions into the CEDO Group’s structure as a part of Cedo Folien und Haushaltsprodukte GmbH.

The core elements of the company’s operation remain unchanged: the commitment to quality, transparency, and innovation — all of which will become even stronger through collaboration with experienced CEDO’s colleagues.

The Plasta GmbH team, already under the name of Cedo Folien und Haushaltsprodukte GmbH, is pleased to continue supporting its partners and extends its sincere thanks to everyone who is walking this path with them.

We are proud to announce the release of the 2024 Plasta Group Sustainability Report, which provides detailed information about our achievements and the progress made over the past year. You can read the full report at your convenience by visiting our website — the link is provided in the comments of this post. And here, we’d like to share some of the key highlights from last year:

🌳 In 2024, we became part of the CEDO international company group;
🌳 We received a silver EcoVadis medal;
🌳 We carried out a comprehensive group greenhouse gas emissions calculation;
🌳 We continued investing in energy-efficient equipment;
🌳 We launched the EcoPlasta brand in the German market.

That’s what happened during 2024 — and 2025 has been just as eventful! We can’t wait to share our progress from this year and are already preparing for an ambitious 2026.

Each stage of Plasta’s plastic recycling process — from sorting to recyclate production — has been thoroughly evaluated by the RecyClass audit team. As a result, we received excellent assessments and an updated RecyClass certificate confirming that the origin of our recycled plastic is fully traceable.

RecyClass is a globally recognized certification aimed at ensuring transparency in the plastic recycling sector and helping companies comply with increasingly strict national and EU sustainability standards.

We are pleased that international quality evaluations help our clients who seek to reduce their environmental impact make more informed decisions about which products to choose.

Plasta Group, together with the entire CEDO family, is dedicating October to Mental and Physical Health Awareness. Will you be attending CMS Berlin from September 23 to 26? If you’re planning to explore the trade show, we invite you to meet the Plasta GmbH team (stand 230, hall 4.2). Our team will be there throughout the event to speak about our processes and present the ECOPlasta products made of recycled post-consumer waste.

When producing garbage bags and film from recycled plastic, we inevitably face many choices at every step of the process — we have to manage production costs, product quality, strength, recyclability, and… appearance. 🔬

We are convinced that the most important factors are sustainability, product quality, ease of use, and price — and only then comes appearance. That’s why, even when we launch plastic bags in different colors and communicate with customers, we emphasize that the best choice is not the most attractive one, but the one that reliably serves in daily use, helps save resources, and protects the environment.

In the field of recycling and sustainability, certifications are not just badges or decorations. To maintain our quality certificates, we work continuously – both to ensure daily compliance and to find new ways to operate more sustainably and efficiently. The latest proof of this is the successful annual audit of the ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management), and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety) systems, which took place at AB Plasta.

We are proud of every employee’s contribution to upholding high quality standards and are ready to keep improving!

Together with the entire Plasta Group team, we’re celebrating because our Group’s company, AB Plasta in Vilnius, Lithuania has received a silver EcoVadis rating for the second year in a row. EcoVadis experts evaluated Plasta’s actions in environmental protection, labor and human rights, ethical practices, and sustainable procurement. Based on these indicators, they determined that Plasta deserves to be among the top 15% most sustainable companies in the EcoVadis network.

We are proud of this recognition and see it as a commitment to aim even higher!

Can air pollution be lower in an industrial area than in other parts of the city? Yes — data collected by the Lithuanian Environmental Protection Agency on average annual pollutant concentrations show that in 2023, air pollution on Savanorių Avenue in Vilnius (an industrial area where AB Plasta is located) was lower than, for example, in the Žirmūnai neighborhood (mainly residential area). 🌳

We’re pleased that, together with other companies located on Savanorių Ave., we demonstrate a responsible and innovative approach to pollution control. At the Plasta site, odor neutralization systems, modern water treatment facilities, and continuously updated manufacturing infrastructure ensure that the plastic recycling and recycled plastic product manufacturing processes do not negatively impact the quality of life for Vilnius residents.

The circularity index, which shows how much recycled material a country uses, is an excellent indicator for monitoring how successfully countries are developing circular initiatives and innovations. In 2023, this indicator in the European Union was 11.8%, but it varied significantly — for example, in the Netherlands, 30.6% of raw materials came from circular processes, while in Finland it was only 2.4%.

The Plasta group strives to increase this indicator — our product range includes garbage bags made from 100% recycled plastic, much of which comes from household waste. By using water- and green energy-saving infrastructure in our recycling and production process, we ensure that every garbage bag leaving our factories is environmentally friendly.

Today is International Day for Biological Diversity – an important occasion for the companies within the Plasta group.

First and foremost, because biodiversity is a cornerstone of environmental well-being, and it is our responsibility to protect it. We also consider biodiversity when developing our products — by choosing to manufacture garbage bags made from 100% recycled household plastic waste, we aim to reduce the amount of plastic reaching rivers, oceans, and other natural areas where plastic pollution causes significant harm to ecosystems.

We invite you to join us in marking this day, starting with making responsible and sustainable choices in your everyday life.
