Kauno rajono savivaldybė plečia vaizdo stebėjimo tinklą ir už 0,5 mln. EUR perka 80 naujų kamerų. Sveikintina, kad savivaldybė tai daro griežtai laikydamasi nacionalinio saugumo reikalavimų.

Nuo šių metų įsigaliojo direktyva, kuri valstybės institucijoms draudžia naudoti nedraugiškų šalių, ypač Kinijos, gamintojų įrangą.

Nepaisant to, kaip praneša LRT žinių tarnyba, daugelyje didžiųjų miestų, tarp jų Kaune ir Vilniuje, vis dar veikia šimtai kiniškų „Hikvision“ kamerų, kurios laikomos nesaugiomis ir galinčiomis kelti grėsmę valstybės bei gyventojų saugumui.

Kauno savivaldybė teigia šias kameras keisianti tada, kai jos suges, todėl rizika išlieka neterminuotam laikui.

Žvalgybos ir policijos institucijos pabrėžia, kad naujos kameros bus parinktos tik po suderinimo su saugumo tarnybomis, siekiant užtikrinti, kad stebėjimo sistema nepriklausytų nuo užsienio, galimai priešiškų technologijų.
