Product development update: RobonodeVision, our most advanced data radio ever, will be ready to unveil in Q4 2026!

RobonodeVision is a next-gen data radio that features advanced embedded video processing and edge AI acceleration. In addition to enhanced UAS connectivity and autonomous video processing, it also features embedded AI acceleration hardware. Powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS6490, RobonodeVision combines advanced video processing with high-performance wireless transmission for demanding UAS and mobile edge applications.

8Devices is implementing the “EXPORT MARKET DEVELOPMENT OF JSC 8DEVICES” project, which focuses on promoting the export of high-value-added products, identifying new export markets, expanding existing markets, and enhancing the company’s competitiveness. Investments are planned to be allocated for the presentation of the company’s products at international exhibitions abroad and product certification.

Project value €221,612.20, a total of €110,806.10 in funding has been allocated from the European Regional Development Fund for the implementation of Project “EXPORT MARKET DEVELOPMENT OF JSC 8DEVICES” No. 02-121-K-0062.

Project start date: September 30, 2024

Project end date: April 5, 2027

Our last new product announcement right before Embedded World 2026 is here! Citron is a new specialized SoM with embedded and DSP acceleration, multi-camera input and display output support - developed right here in the EU by 8devices.

We built this new SoM on the Qualcomm QCS6490 SoC, which provides embedded AI, DSP and video hardware acceleration. This SoM is a powerful platform for robotics, drones, and intelligent vision applications that require low-latency processing and edge AI video analytics.

We are excited to announce that we are developing a new high-performance UAS-oriented data radio – RobonodeVision.

RobonodeVision packs high-performance processing capabilities and advanced connectivity features into a small, lightweight and drone-friendly enclosure. Built using the Qualcomm QCS6490 SoC, this data radio includes embedded AI/DSP and video hardware acceleration and supports 3 camera inputs and a display. Modular platform architecture means that clients will be able to order units customized to their needs. Each RobonodeVision also supports modified 802.11 be connectivity with enhanced range and power thanks to pre-installed Robosoft – our embedded Linux software platform designed for UAS and robotics.

Though we have not yet set a release date, visitors at 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany will have the chance to see RobonodeVision for themselves at the Codico or Qualcomm booths!
