Today, Latvijas Finieris was pleased to welcome His Excellency Mr. Kim Jong-han, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Latvia, together with his delegation, as well as representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
During the visit, discussions focused on the existing cooperation between Latvijas Finieris and South Korean companies, as well as opportunities for its further development. South Korea is one of Latvijas Finieris' most important export markets, where Riga Wood birch plywood is widely used in high value-added industries, including the manufacturing of LNG carriers, high-speed trains and light commercial vehicles.
The delegation was introduced to Latvijas Finieris' operations, its export products, and the company's sustainable approach, which is founded on continuous product development, innovation, and long-term partnerships.

Together with Latvijas Finieris, we sincerely thank the delegation for their visit and the constructive discussions, which contribute to strengthening the economic cooperation and business ties between Latvia and the Republic of Korea.

Every tree planted is an investment in the forests of tomorrow.

Latvijas Finieris, the parent company of Riga Wood, currently manages more than 15,700 hectares of forestland in Latvia, all certified according to the PEFC sustainable forest management standard.

By planting and nurturing forests, Latvijas Finieris helps ensure a sustainable supply of high-quality raw material for future generations while contributing to the responsible management of Latvia’s forests.

Last year, the company planted more than 770,000 tree seedlings, primarily birch and spruce, as well as pine and black alder.

The annual Forest Days initiative is an important tradition within the Latvijas Finieris Group. This year, members of the Riga Wood international team were delighted to take part, joining colleagues, families, and partners in planting trees and contributing to a greener future.

The State Revenue Service has honoured the recipients of the Taxpayer of the Year Award 2025, recognising companies that make a significant contribution to Latvia’s economy. We are proud that Latvijas Finieris AS has been named Latvia’s Leading Exporter in 2025.

Take a look inside the newly opened production facilities of Verems RSEZ SIA !

With a total investment of €100 million, this is the largest single manufacturing development project in the Latgale region. The project marks a significant contribution to Latvia’s economy, generating more than €30 million in additional annual exports through the production of innovative bioeconomy products.

The expansion has also created around 90 new jobs, further strengthening employment opportunities and economic growth in Latgale.
