Dear friends,
Today I decided to answer some of the most frequently asked me questions.
Q. Some of your products contain sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate. What is your attitude to food preservatives?
A. The purpose of the use of of the preservatives is to ensure food safety, i.e. microbiological purity. Sure, preservative free food is a good thing, but very often it is necessary to use preservatives. Otherwise the product will deteriorate in a few days. The problems solution would be pasteurization – heating to about 80 degrees. As the result a lot of biologically active substances will be destroyed.
Preservatives should not scare, especially above mentioned "classic” substances. By the way, sodium benzoate is the derivate of natural benzoic acid, which in high concentration contains cranberry, cowberry as well as propolis; potassium sorbate is the analog of sorbic acid of rowan berries.
Q. In FitoBALT product’s list there is red beetroot juice drink – BetaVuSan, which is positioned as antianemic dietary supplement. It is known red beet juice is usable in traditional medicine to increase blood haemoglobin level. What is the principal differences of the efficacy of common red beetroot juice and BetaVuSan?
A. BetaVuSan capacity to increase blood haemoglobin level in case of iron deficiency anaemia is as 250 times higher than common red beetroot juice. Regarding blood microcirculation stimulation BetaVuSan’s efficacy is 8-11 times higher. BetaVuSan is more palatable and it does not cause side effects (nausea etc.).
Q. What is more useful: vegetables, fruits and berries or its juice?
A. Preference should be given fresh vegetables, fruits, berries, which contain more dietary fibers. Glycemic index of raw vegetables and fruits is less in comparison with juices. This means less risk of obesity and diabetes.
Q. Efficacy of the mixture of ten plant ingredients will be higher than two component product?
A. If to mix two ingredients (dried herbs, extracts etc.) there will be three versions mixture’s biological effects: synergy (the mixture is more effective, than separate ingredients one), antagonism (the mixture is less effective), no interaction (efficacy of the mixture is the same as that of separate ingredients). Unfortunately it is impossible to make theoretical forecast regarding multi ingredient composition biological effect. The only way to evaluate such dietary supplement’s impact on Health is laboratory research.
