It was a pleasure to meet Federacija.lv (FSDI Latvia) members during our special Industry Day event at Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia. Materize has been a member of FSDI Latvia since February 2022, so it was great to host this Industry Day to show our expertise and the possibilities of Materize and ISSP UL. This event further strengthened the relationship between Materize and the defence industry in Latvia represented by FSDI Latvia.

This showcasing allowed members to have a better and more clear view of our capabilities and possible collaboration in new material and coating development, optical system development, sensor integration and energetics, where Materize with its expertise and experience can be a helping force for innovations in the defence industry.

Materize team has travelled to Paris, France, to attend the world’s premier global space event – International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2022. Materize, Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia and ESA - European Space Agency have already together contributed to the aerospace industry and showcased combined expertise. We’re open for new collaborations and looking forward to new partnerships in the wide field of aerospace.

The International Astronautical Congress 2022 is the 73rd time IAC is being held. This year the congress hosts 250 exhibitors and 6500 delegates with the main theme being “Space for ”. The main theme means bringing together all space communities, alongside the burgeoning global ecosystem and start-ups, entrepreneurs, laboratories, research scientists and manufacturers that could get involved in space activities or benefit from them.

This week Materize team attends Optics and Photonics Day 2022 in Tampere, Finland. This event offers great networking opportunities with companies in the field of photonics and optics. Over 250 experts and more than 30 exhibitors are present, including Materize and Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia. We are open to collaborations and projects, so let’s meet up!

It was a great pleasure and honor to welcome Ms. Ilze Indriksone , Minister of Economics of Latvia, and the Ekonomikas ministrija delegation today at Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia. During the visit, we introduced the Minister with our industry cooperation branch Materize and recently commercialized scientific achievements, such as TESS sensor and Organ-on-a-chip.

Details of the existing and potential contribution of Materize and ISSP UL to the Latvian economy and development prospects in the high-tech sector were emphasized and discussed. As a contribution to the visit, a joint meeting with Google about possible cooperation opportunities was held.

Materize is an expert in the field of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). The multifunctional and modern infrastructure of Materize allows for full-cycle research of organic materials, prototyping of the OLED itself and characterization of its efficiency.

OLEDs are used in the production of digital displays for various smart devices, as well as in the production of OLED interior lighting devices.

With the help of our test equipment and knowledge Adianano managed to assess the electrochemical performance of their anode material and can plan the next steps towards their goal of reaching a 100% increase in battery energy capacity compared to current industry standards.

Tom Slapjums, CEO & Co-Founder of Adianano, is really satisfied with the work done by Materize: “All measurements and tests are performed on a high level, and we are satisfied with the results of our cooperation. The speed of communication is especially important to me, so I am glad that there are very professional people working at Materize, who always respond within a day at the latest.”
