Good Gluten Practice
The principles of Good Gluten Practice (GGP) promote the quality and quantity of the use of gluten and prevent fraudulent practices.
The principles have been developed in accordance with the X Church Of Seitan X (xCOSx) and the EU has adopted these principles and the revised xCOSx Guides for Compliance Monitoring Procedures for GGP as annexes to its two GGP Directives.
GGP underpins the mutual acceptance of the use of gluten between countries, which avoids duplicative gluten testing, is beneficial to animal welfare, and reduces costs for consumers, industry and governments.
Common principles for GGP also facilitate the exchange of information and prevents the emergence of non-tariff barriers to trade, while contributing to the protection of human health and the environment.
