📣Temporary traffic diversion on M3 road are extended until 30.11.25!

🚧 Due to new additional works instructed and also due to weather conditions, the restrictions are extended until the end of November 2025 for heavy traffic only.

✅We encourage the drivers to respect the temporary road signs installed in the south of Moldova, as per approved traffic diversion scheme.

👍Soon the citizen of Vulcanesti will enjoy a newly repaired street with road signs and road marking, fully safe for traffic since all the heavy traffic will bypass the town via the newly built bypass road.

📣Temporary traffic diversion on M3 road !

🚧Starting from Monday 08.09.25, temporary traffic diversion will be implemented on M3 road for all heavy traffic, due to additional works instructed recently to the Contractor. Temporary road signs were installed as per approved diversion scheme in various locations to inform the truck drivers. Estimated duration is 2 months.

✅As per a recent decision of the National Road Administration, the repair of Jukovsky street from Vulcanesti will be done. This street is currently used as M3 road and was significantly damaged during the years due to the heavy traffic.

👍Soon the citizen of Vulcanesti will enjoy a newly repaired street with road signs and road marking, fully safe for traffic. In addition, a section of the M3 road located after Vulcanesti will be also repaired until the newly built junction with the Vulcanesti bypass road. All additional works included in variation order recently approved by the EBRD and the Employer.

⚡After completion of all works on the bypass project all the heavy traffic passing via Vulcanesti will be diverted to the new bypass road. Safer traffic and an improved environment for the town.

⚡A new road rehabilitation Contract awarded to Automagistral Pivden LLC in Moldova.

📣We are excited to announce that 42 km of the R34 Hîncești – Leova – Cahul – Giurgiulesti road will enter into full rehabilitation. The Contract No.RSP/W15/03 was signed today, 12.08.25, with the National Road Administration in the presence of the deputy prime minister Mr. Vladimir Bolea.

ℹ️The project “Rehabilitation Works on R34 Hîncești - Leova - Cahul - Giurgiulești road, km 83+000 – km 125+000” consists of the rehabilitation and full depth reconstruction works of existing road. The project starts at roundabout km 83+025 of R34 road in Cantemir town, and continues up to km 124+769 entrance to Cahul.

🚧The works to be carried out includes the section with new road construction, rehabilitation of existing pavement, widenings, including arrangement of side roads to the agricultural fields and arrangement of minor intersections, entrance to the properties, construction of a retaining wall and underground drainage system, slope protection, bridges constructions, relocation of utilities, street lighting works and bus stops installation in villages.

✅Designed project quantities include:
- Earthworks over 300,000 m3;
- Asphalt milling, over 55,000 m3;
- Cold recycling 375,000 m3;
- Asphalt layers, over 80,000 to;
- Construction of six bridges;
- Construction of pipe and box culverts over 1,000 l.m.;
- Construction of consolidated channels over 9,500 l.m.;
- Installation of 10,000 l.m. of guardrail;
- Installation of over 850 signs;
- Application of over 15,500 m2 of road marking;
- Relocation of existing underground utilities;
- Installation and arrangement of bus stations;
- Construction of walkways and accesses to properties.

👍This is the third FIDIC contract of Automagistral Pivden LLC in the Republic of Moldova. After the successful implementation of M3 Chisinau – Comrat – Giurgiulesti project and the ongoing implementation of the M3, Vulcanesti bypass road, which is expected to be finalized this autumn, the company will focus its resources and best knowledge for the implementation of the new RSP/W15/03 Contract.

📣The last section of 1.2 km of Vulcanesti bypass road is under construction. Base asphalt layer pavement works are ongoing.

🚧Two asphalt teams and good performance on site resulted in an increased progress rate of 8️⃣2️⃣%. By mid of August the asphalt works will be completed.

📣Intensive work continues on the remaining section of M3 road, bypass of Vulcanesti

⚠️Construction of a 3-lane section (1.2 km) of the bypass road in the middle of the contract will be completed soon. This is the last section of the bypass, where construction of all designed pavement layers will be done, starting with the base stabilization works with cement, which are ongoing. This section includes one culvert, special drainage systems on both sides of the road and slope protection works in the excavated area which used to be a forest.

🚧 For this summer construction season we have major plans and scheduled progress for the RSP/W14/01 Contract - construction of M3 road, Vulcanesti bypass section.

‼️Key achievements during June 2025 include:
-Successful trial section for slope protection works with 3D geogrid
-Successful trial section for hydroseeding works
-Slope profiling works
-Drainage construction
-Installation of handrails and guardrails at the bridge 2+965
-Installation of the expansion joints at the bridge km 2+965
-Embankment construction works
-Construction of spillways
-Shoulders construction

🤝The construction site is regularly being inspected by the representatives of the National Road Administration, providing support during the project implementation. A recent visit of the representatives of EBRD and the experts from Mott MacDonald was conducted to our site. The increasing progress and project issues were discussed in details.

🏗️ Mobilization of specialized equipment has reached 120 units, while 80 units are being used daily on site. Three plants mobilized for the project (asphalt plant, dry mix plant and a concrete plant).
Manpower resources are increasing on monthly basis, reaching by the end of June 170 persons.

✅The new bypass road will become part of M3 road Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-border with Romania. The bypass connects the newly constructed sections of M3 road, put into operation in 2022-2023 by Automagistral Pivden LLC for the Beneficiary – State Road Administration, with the financial support from EBRD.

ℹ️Works started in August 2023. Progress after 22 months has reached 7️⃣7️⃣%.

ℹ️As of today, 86% of road length is ready paved in binder asphalt layer and 70% in wearing course.

🇲🇩🇪🇺The Vulcanesti bypass road project value is 21.2 M EUR, financed by the EBRD, and has February 2026 as the contractual deadline.

⚡ Site visit of the President of Moldova to Vulcanesti bypass road project

✅ A high level visit took place on 21st of May 2025, when the President of Moldova Maia Sandu visited the project construction site during a trip to south of Moldova. The ongoing works were presented by the Director of the State Road Administration and the Project Manager.

✅Maia Sandu has mentioned that „the Vulcanesti bypass road with improve the traffic on M3 road and will increase the road safety in the region. The new bypass will perform the connection to Giurgiulesti port and will save time for transport of goods and will boost the economic development in the south of the county”.

🚧 Ongoing works, inspected during the site visit:
-Pavement works of the first asphalt layer at the bridge at km 2+965
-Pavement works the final wearing course layer from km 0+100 to km 2+700
-Construction of cast in situ road gutter
-Excavation works at km 5
-Embankment construction works

🏁 By May 2025, the Contractor has managed to pave 87% of the road in binder layer and 50% of the road length in final wearing course asphalt layer.

🏗️ The mobilization of the specialized equipment has reached 118 units, while 90 units are being used daily on site. Three plants mobilized for the project (asphalt plant, dry mix plant and a concrete plant).
Manpower resources are increasing on monthly basis, reaching by the end of May 180 persons. Numbers to increase during the summer months.

✅The new bypass road will become part of M3 road Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-border with Romania. The bypass connects the newly constructed sections of M3 road, put into operation in 2022-2023 by Automagistral Pivden LLC for the Beneficiary – State Road Administration, with the financial support from EBRD. The present project is the second FIDIC Contract of Automagistral Pivden in Moldova.

✅Works started in August 2023. Progress after 21 months, including winter period is 71%.
✅The Contractor is planning to finalize the works in autumn 2025, prior to the contractual deadline.

📣STARTING A NEW CONSTRUCTION SEASON

🚧 A new construction season ahead with major plans and scheduled progress for the RSP/W14/01 Contract - construction of M3 road, Vulcanesti bypass section.

❄️After a winter season with partial activity on site due to weather conditions, the teams are eager to perform and finalize the works as per contractual deadlines.

✅Since mid of January 2025 the works resumed on site with more than 170 personnel mobilized and 67 units of construction equipment out of 120 available, which allowed us to perform various types of roadworks up to end of March:
- Embankment construction
- Construction of concrete side drains
- Kerbs installation
- Bridge superstructure works
- Overpass drainage layer
- Street lights installation
- Ex*****on minor intersections
- Installation of pedestrian guardrails
- Finishing and trimming of slopes
- Topsoil on embankment slopes

✅The key priority is the start of asphalt pavement works for the final wearing course layer. For this purpose, our team has conducted a trial section to test the asphalt mix formula and the pavement method. In total 6.8 km can be paved with the wearing course layer as soon as the trial tests are approved.

ℹ️The top layer of an asphalt structure is called the wearing course. It is designed to accommodate the traffic load and to resist skidding, traffic abrasion and weather. The main function of the wearing course is to provide impermeable layers so that entry of water to the base course can be prevented. Moreover, the entire traffic load is safely distributed over the base course. It acts as a water-resistant layer, thus avoiding the entry of water to the base course layers.

✅ For the other remaining sections, the priority is the embankment works. After completion of earthworks all the subgrade and pavement layers need to be built.

🤝The construction site is periodically inspected by the representatives of the State Road Administration, providing support during the project implementation.

⚡A new milestone of 60% progress was reached at the end of March 2025. Progress is expected to increase significantly during the next months.

⚡ High level visit to M3 Chisinau-Comrat Giurgiulesti, Vulcanesti bypass road project !

✅ Today, 20.02.25 the project construction site was inspected by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Dorin Recean. The ongoing works for construction of the Vulcanesti bypass section of M3 road were discussed with the project management. The Prime Minister was accompanied during the site visit by the representatives of the State Road Administration.

🇲🇩 The Head of the Government stressed that the authorities will continue to monitor the progress of the works, to ensure that all standards are respected, and the approximately 12 thousand inhabitants of the city of Vulcănești will have access to a modernized infrastructure. "The implementation of the project will contribute to the decongestion of traffic in the city, increasing road safety and stimulating the economic development of the southern region of the country, including improving the connection with the port of Giurgiulesti," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

🚧 Ongoing works, inspected during the site visit:

-Construction of the bridge at km 2+965
-Construction of concrete ditches
-Slopes profiling works

⚡By February 2025, the Contractor has managed to deliver to site 95% of the aggregates needed for asphalt production for remaining asphalt productions. These stocks will be used during the summer period, when asphalt paving works will start.
