HEAD NURSE
About the Ankarabo Chromite Project
The Ankarabo Chromite Project is located at the central east coast of Madagascar, approximately 75km by road from the port of Toamasina. The Project will see Chromite Ore mined and processed with conventional bulk commodity techniques, i.e. truck and shovel mining followed by a single stage crushing and screening circuit.
CAPRICORN ENTERPRISES MADAGASCAR: We are looking for a qualified registered head nurse to promote and restore patient’s health within our company.
Job Brief
As a HEAD NURSE in our camp base, you will work with a variety of patients and will provide direct nursing care along with physical or psychological support when required. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will also be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify patients’ care requirements, focus on their needs and act on them
• Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
• Resolve or report on patients’ needs or problems
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine diagnostic checks (monitor pulse, blood pressure and temperature, provide drugs and injections etc)
• Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders –
• Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
• Monitor and record patient’s condition and document provided care services
• Produce weekly or monthly report to Management.
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Follow care regulations and standards
• Work within and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team
Requirements
• Bilingual: English and French are essential to this role
• Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma from an accredited school of Nursing program
• Valid nursing license - Proven experience as a registered nurse
• Familiarity with professional and technical emerging knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
• Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
• Compassionate with good communication skills
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, is desirable
Work schedule: 22 days working on Site Ankarabo and 8 days off
