Cummins Mongolia Investment INTERN 2026
We're excited to have these bright, talented individuals join Cummins. Let’s make this an unforgettable journey!🥳
Intern Reflections: Mungunsarnai Davaasuren //
After finishing my first year of university, I started my first internship as a Business Management Intern at Cummins Mongolia Investment LLC (CMGI). To be honest, I was nervous.
I still remember my first day. Everything felt new, and I had no idea what to expect. I was probably more worried about simple things than actual work. I remember wondering if I even knew how to use an office printer properly. Being the youngest person in both my team and the company made me feel a little out of place at first. Since I wasn't very confident when it came to communicating with new people, walking into a professional workplace was intimidating.
Luckily, that feeling didn't last long.
One of the biggest reasons was the support I received from my manager and teammates. Whenever I had a question, no matter how small it was, there was always someone willing to help. What impressed me most about my manager was not only how knowledgeable she was, but also how she encouraged me to challenge myself and think beyond simply completing tasks. Watching experienced professionals like my buddy-mentor Oyu egch solve problems, make decisions, and connect the bigger picture motivated me to learn more every day and become more confident in my own abilities.
Another thing that stood out to me about CMGI was how people were fostering open communications to find better ways of working. Throughout my internship, I saw teams continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes, share knowledge, and work more efficiently. Enterprise AI tools and digital solutions were becoming part of everyday work, helping employees spend less time on repetitive administrative tasks and more time on activities that create value. Seeing technology used as a practical tool to support people, rather than replace them, changed the way I think about the future of work.
What I enjoyed most was having the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects. During my internship, I worked on developing an AI Agent for contract key information sheet generation, created standard procedure training materials, managed contract management trackers and reports, and supported efficiency and effectiveness process improvement initiatives. At first, these tasks felt challenging, but over time I became more comfortable taking ownership and finding solutions independently. It was rewarding to know that my work could help make a process more efficient or save time for others.
There were also many small things that made the experience memorable. The coffee corner quickly became one of my favorite places in the office, and I still remember being surprised when I heard classical music playing in the restroom. While those details may seem small, they contributed to an atmosphere that felt welcoming and comfortable. More importantly, I noticed how much the company values its people and strives to create a positive working environment where employees feel supported and respected.
If there is one lesson I will take away from this internship, it is that knowledge is one of the most valuable things a person can have. Before joining Cummins, I thought learning mainly happened in classrooms. During my internship, I realized how much can be learned from observing others, asking questions, and staying curious. Working alongside experienced professionals showed me that learning never really stops, regardless of how much experience you have.
Looking back, this internship gave me much more than work experience. It helped me build confidence, develop new skills, and gain a better understanding of what professional life is like. Most importantly, it showed me the value of continuous learning, adaptability, and having the courage to step outside my comfort zone.
I am truly grateful to everyone in the BM Team and at Cummins Mongolia who supported me throughout this journey. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn, grow, and take my first step into the professional world. It is an experience I will always remember, and one that has inspired me to keep learning and improving in the years ahead.
