Step 3: Calculations & Precise Measurement
“The Vaastu shastra enunciates that time-measure (Talam) is the fundamental scientific principle used for composing poetry, music, dance, sculpture and architecture.” Dr. V Ganapati Sthapati.
In practice, this Tálam is produced by the beat of foot in dance, the beat of palm in music and snapping of fingers in composition of poetry.
In building architecture of Sthapatya Veda (Vaastu architecture) Tálam measure is used to create rhythmic spatial forms. Such a building “vibrates from within, emitting wave patterns based on the rhythmic spatial order.”
During this step, a Vaastu consultant will perform a series of mathematical calculations in order to arrive at a unique building frequency which is compatible with all the residents of the house and full of vibrational qualities that will contribute to a positive Vaastu effect. Once a building frequency is established the Vaastu consultant will convert this frequency (Rhythm & Vibration) into spatial units (Space & Form).
“Architecture is frozen music and the zenithal achievement of mathematics” - Dr. V Ganapati Sthapati.
Thereby a harmony between built space and human rhythm is established by the traditional architects. In the Vastu Tradition, this process is called Ayadi Gananam - Measures of Spiritual Peace and Comfort
“The harmonious resonation of the wavelength of the building with that of the inhabitant is the main aim of Ayadi Gananam.” Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati
