Bridging Theory and Practice.

A group of International MBA students from the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) at the University of Malta recently visited Seifert Systems Ltd. on Friday, 24th July. As part of their Designing and Leading Operations study unit, the students toured the facilities to observe Seifert's state of the art operations firsthand and discuss key operational strategies with industry professionals.

The visit was led by HR Manager, Ivan Refalo and Smart Factory Manager, Ing Stanley Zammit for Seifert Systems , and Prof Emmanuel Francalanza for University of Malta.

Mr Refalo and Ing Zammit gave an introduction about the Company followed by a tour of the production facilities.

The visit came to an end with a Q&A session.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Injection Machine Setter to support our Plastic Injection department. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and troubleshooting injection moulding machines to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products while meeting production targets and maintaining process stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform machine setups, mould changes, and production start-ups independently.
• Install and configure moulds, robots, and auxiliary equipment.
• Moniter and adjust machine parameters to achieve quality and productivity targets.
• Troubleshoot machine, process, and product quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
• Carry out routine inspections and first-level preventative maintenance.
• Maintain production records and process documentation.
• Support and guide junior setters and production operators.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

What We're Looking For:
• Minimum 2–4 years' experience in an injection moulding environment.
• Proven experience with machine setup, mould changes, and process adjustments.
• Good understanding of injection moulding processes and plastic materials.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and under production deadlines.
• Technical qualification (MQF Level 4) preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
• Experience with robots, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment is an advantage.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with production reporting systems.

Charles Agius has this past week celebrated his 25-year anniversary at Seifert Systems. Having originally started in a production overseeing capacity, Charles has held various roles within the Maltese team.
Charles today supports various departments within the Operations team, using his long experience to ensure that information handover, interpretation of targets and requirements, and the ramp up of new processes works as effectively as we continue to grow an integrate new processes.
Having spend many years leading the Planning team, we thank Charles for his loyalty and unwavering dedication!
