Construction Insights: What Are Structural Beams?

Structural beams are horizontal elements that play a key role in supporting a building’s framework. They are designed to carry loads from slabs and transfer them to columns, which then direct the load down to the foundation.

By distributing weight across the structure, beams help maintain stability and prevent excessive stress on individual elements. They are commonly used in floors, ceilings, and roof structures.

In reinforced concrete construction, beams are formed using steel reinforcement within formwork before concrete is poured. This combination ensures strength, durability, and long-term performance under load.

At ST Projects, each structural beam is engineered and executed with precision to ensure the overall integrity of the building.
