The Gozo Airstrip / Heliport decades of counterproductive Saga to put Gozo firmly on the fixed wing map for General Aviation GA evolution, comes down to a current planning approval next week! ?

The Glaring issue however the runway extension to a mere 450m (Approx 160m runway is in place) simply is not going to be sustainable at a cost of €3.5m non brainer!

If so it will be only useable for microlights / VLAs very light aircraft/ experimental type recreational operations, considering when the 2 thriving Flight Schools MIA based are screaming out for at least a 1000m runway in Gozo & can accept commercial viable GA aircraft other then major schedule airliners at MIA.

A 1000m runway in Gozo will be a true gateway to the wider World airport connections for island residents & apart will give students pilots a local place to train & hence relieving MIA local air traffic delays that will compliment each other !
