The full job description is as follows:
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Fitter / Working Supervisor with a strong background in shipyards or demanding industrial engineering environments.

Our objective is to attract technically capable candidates who can also lead and organise a small team, take responsibility for productivity and assisting the management in daily coordination of works.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and work alongside a small team of mechanical fitters.
Organise daily activities.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Coordinate manpower, materials, tools and equipment.
Monitor workmanship, dimensional accuracy, productivity and quality.
Resolve technical problems and minimise delays, downtime and rework.
Coordinate priorities with the Operations Manager and Project Manager.
Ensure safe working practices and efficient use of resources.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Extensive practical experience.
Proven experience in shipyards, ship repair, marine engineering or demanding project-based industrial environments.
Previous experience leading or coordinating a small team.
Practical problem-solving ability and a flexible, hands-on attitude.
Good spoken and written English is essential.

As Senior Accounts Executive at Versatech, Matheus spends his days working with numbers, connecting financial data and finding the right information when something doesn’t quite add
up.

And that’s exactly what he likes about it.

Since joining Versatech after moving to Malta, he has taken on new challenges, worked with international finance processes and helped develop new ways of working.

One project he is particularly proud of is helping establish a payroll process, a challenge that taught him a lot along the way.

But Matheus isn’t all spreadsheets.

Outside work, he loves
running, going to the gym and acrylic painting. 🎨

Strengthening the Link Between Education and Industry

Brendon Cassar, Business Support Manager at Versatech International, attended MCAST Meets Industry - Industry consultation event, focusing on the evolving skills and training needs within the Building Services sector.

The event provided an opportunity to engage with educators and industry professionals, share insights on workforce requirements and contribute to discussions on aligning vocational education with industry expectations.

After a busy week of technical challenges, deadlines and teamwork on site, it’s nice to swap the tools for a dinner table and simply enjoy some time together.
