We’re incredibly proud to see Aminath Noya Sameeh representing the Maldives 🇲🇻 at Mission ShakthiSAT – Phase 2! 🚀

Noya has been an active young participant in Women in Tech Maldives programmes, and we’ve had the pleasure of seeing her curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness to learn firsthand. She is a bright young person with a genuine interest in science and technology, and we’re excited to see her take on this opportunity.

A huge thank you to Minha Faiz, Women in Management Maldives, for creating this opportunity and supporting young Maldivian women and girls to explore new possibilities and dream bigger.

A proud moment for the Maldives 🇲🇻🚀

Meet Aminath Noya Sameeh, who will be representing the Maldives at Mission ShakthiSAT – Phase 2 in Delhi this August.

Noya has a strong interest in science and computer technology and hopes to build a future in computer science, contributing to new ideas and innovations that can make a real difference. She is also passionate about public speaking and has been using her voice to raise awareness about cyberbullying and cybersafety, including through talks and an online awareness campaign.

Being selected for Mission ShakthiSAT has given Noya the chance to learn, meet young people from different parts of the world and, most importantly, believe that she can dream even bigger.

In her own words, this journey has taught her not to limit herself to what feels possible, but to aim higher and work towards it.

We are incredibly proud to see Noya carry the Maldivian flag on this journey, and we hope her story inspires many more girls to believe in their dreams and go after them with confidence.

Young people aren't just growing up with AI, they'll help shape what comes next.

This International Youth Day, we're thinking beyond simply using AI. Young people should have the skills and confidence to understand it, question it, use it responsibly, and have a voice in how it shapes our communities.

Through AI for Impact, we're working to strengthen practical AI and digital skills among young people and civil society in the Maldives, helping them participate confidently in an increasingly AI-enabled world.

🌊 Did you know the English word "Atoll" has its roots in the Maldives?

The English word "Atoll" is derived from the Dhivehi word "Atholhu" (އަތޮޅު) a word that has been spoken by Maldivians for generations and continues to be used today.

For us, an Atholhu is much more than a coral island formation. It represents our islands, our communities, our traditions, and the way generations of Maldivians have lived and thrived.

We're proud to share this unique piece of our culture with the world through the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 – Social Media Challenge #5: .
