We are proud to have successfully installed a 6kW Off-Grid Solar System at the Mbandanga Milk Bulking Centre Cooperative in Thyolo District, under the financing support of AGCOM, JLIFAD, the World Bank, and the Government of Malawi.
This system is a transformative solution for the 350 member cooperative and surrounding Cattle farming communities. Since it will provide a stable and independent power supply that will enables the operation of refrigeration systems which is essential for milk preservation.
With this installation:
1. Farmers will now store processed milk for extended periods without spoilage.
2. will help to maintain consistent product quality.
3. Post-harvest losses will also significantly be reduced and these farmers will gain the opportunity to access better markets and pricing
Our Solar Project demonstrates how decentralized renewable energy directly strengthen agricultural value chains and also improve rural livelihoods of people, and enhance food security.
