La erosión del suelo es el inicio de una cadena de destrucción silenciosa.

Cuando la tierra pierde su cobertura vegetal y su capacidad de absorción, deja de ser un organismo vivo y se convierte en una superficie inerte. En ese momento, el territorio deja de retener el agua y pasa a expulsarla. Cada lluvia se transforma entonces en un flujo violento que corre a gran velocidad, arrastra sedimentos, destruye infraestructura, inunda comunidades y termina depositándose en el mar, donde sofoca y diezma los arrecifes que sostienen la vida marina y la economía local.

Esto no es un fenómeno natural inevitable.
Es el resultado directo de un modelo de ocupación del territorio que rompe los ciclos del agua.

En Baja California Sur, la crisis hídrica no es un escenario futuro: es una realidad acumulada año tras año. Los acuíferos se agotan más rápido de lo que pueden recargarse, mientras el crecimiento urbano, turístico e inmobiliario continúa expandiéndose como si el agua fuera infinita.

Este no es un problema técnico aislado. Es la consecuencia directa de un sistema de vida institucionalizado que ha creado una dependencia total del cemento, de la industria de la construcción y de servicios cada vez más costosos.

Nos enseñaron a llamar progreso a un modelo que:

Treinta y cinco años en el mar, veinticinco como Yacht Master, y cada inmersión me reafirman lo mismo: la palabra "sostenibilidad" se ha convertido en un chiste. Un término vacío, prostituido por corporativos que lo usan para vender lo mismo de siempre, pero con un barniz "verde".

Soy buzo multiagencia desde hace 35 años. He navegado estas aguas de Baja California Sur, he visto la vida bullir y también la he visto amenazada. Cuando la gente habla de "regenerativo" y "sostenible", a menudo piensa en un panel solar o una maceta en un balcón de concreto. Eso no es sostenibilidad; es greenwashing diluido. Es la búsqueda de una etiqueta para eludir la responsabilidad.
