28 Oct. to Nov. 24 | K-Youth Skill Development (Phase 2) 2024 @ UTHM, Pagoh

Alhamdulillah, our team (CGS-SI) had the privilege of training an inspiring group of young talents in the Internet of Things (IoT) world. Over five days, these diploma-level students enthusiastically and commit to complex concepts and hands-on learning.

Our approach combined foundational IoT knowledge with practical, team-based workshops. Starting with the basics - IoT architecture, sensors, and communication protocols - we were thrilled to watch students bring their ideas to life in projects like smart homes and safety systems. Each team's creativity and problem-solving skills truly shone through.

Challenges are part of the journey, and coding or sensor integration issues were no exception. But witnessing the students' determination and resilience, especially with one-on-one support, underscored why programs like this are so vital. They not only build technical skills but also foster confidence and adaptability.

Reflecting on the program's success, our team feels inspired by these young minds. We're excited about what they'll achieve and proud to have been part of their journey toward becoming tomorrow's tech innovators.

Successful Completion of Energy Monitoring and Automation of MVAC System’s Project for Tunku Tun Aminah Library, UTHM

We (CGS-SI) are excited to announce the successful completion of the Energy Monitoring and Automation Project for the Mechanical Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MVAC) system at Tunku Tun Aminah Library, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). This project marks a significant step for CGS-SI team in supporting UTHM’s commitment to achieving energy management and sustainability excellence.

Through this initiative, the university now has a fully operational, state-of-the-art system that enables real-time energy consumption monitoring and automated control of the MVAC system. Utilizing a Web-Based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT), personnel can manage the air conditioning remotely, optimizing energy usage and reducing operational costs. The system is also equipped with a smartphone application, allowing for easier access and control on the go.

Key benefits of this system include:

1. Enhanced Energy Efficiency: The automated control of MVAC operational hours and room temperature regulation ensures energy is only used when necessary, contributing to significant cost savings and reduced carbon emissions.

2. Real-Time Monitoring: Building management can now monitor energy consumption in real-time, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and adjustments to improve efficiency.

3. Support for Sustainability Goals: The system will assist UTHM in obtaining the prestigious 3-Star Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) certification, reinforcing the university's commitment to environmental sustainability and energy conservation.

4. Reduction in Operational Costs: By automating processes previously managed manually, the new system reduces the need for technical staff while optimizing energy consumption, resulting in long-term monetary savings.

This project demonstrates CGS-SI's capability and showcases UTHM’s dedication to implementing smart, innovative solutions that contribute to a greener future. CGS-SI looks forward to continuing efforts in energy management excellence and sharing more about how we are making strides toward sustainable development.

UTHM Prioritizes Safety at PKAYIBP Through CSR Initiative

8 to 10 September 2024 | Our team, that is, the Creative Group Solution – System Integrator (CGS-SI) has represented UTHM in carrying out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Daerah Batu Pahat (PKAYIBP). The initiative focused on a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the wiring and electrical safety systems in PKAYIBP's office building and dormitories.

The purpose of this program was to ensure that the electrical systems in these buildings are not only up to current safety standards but also secure for the staff and over 60 orphans residing there. The CGS-SI team diligently inspected the wiring systems and identified potential safety risks that required attention.

This effort aligns with UTHM’s commitment to enhancing community welfare, especially for institutions dedicated to caring for and educating orphans. PKAYIBP expressed sincere gratitude to UTHM and CGS-SI for the dedication to ensuring the safety of its residents and staff.

This initiative is a testament to UTHM’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.
