Pluslife MiniDock MTB Test
Mediven® recently conducted a sample collection training session together with our partner, Pluslife, for the Pluslife MiniDock MTB Test.
This initiative is part of our broader effort to expand access to molecular tuberculosis (TB) testing at the point of care (POC). Through this project, we aim to improve TB screening coverage, enable earlier detection, and make molecular TB diagnostics more accessible and affordable for primary care facilities.
A key advantage of the Pluslife MiniDock MTB Test is its support for tongue swab sampling—a simple, non-invasive specimen collection method that is gaining recognition by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a promising alternative for TB diagnosis. Compared with sputum collection, tongue swab sampling offers a more patient-friendly experience, especially for individuals who have difficulty producing sputum, such as children, older adults, and some immunocompromised patients. This approach has the potential to improve patient acceptance while expanding access to TB testing in community and primary care settings.
By bringing reliable molecular testing closer to patients, we hope to contribute meaningfully to national TB control efforts and strengthen frontline diagnostic capacity.
At Mediven®, we remain committed to advancing healthcare through solutions that prioritise accessibility, foster meaningful collaboration, and strengthen readiness at the frontline of care delivery.
