Composite hose is built differently from rubber hose. Layers of polymer film and fabric are held between an inner and an outer helical wire, with no vulcanised rubber in the wall.
That makes it much lighter and easier to handle at the same bore size. It's why you see composite hose on tanker loading bays, jetty transfer points and chemical unloading stations, where operators are moving and reconnecting hose all shift.
Where it works well:
→ Loading and unloading of petroleum products, solvents and many chemicals
→ Vapour recovery lines
→ Frequent handling, where weight matters
Where to look at other types of hoses:
→ High-pressure hydraulic duty. Composite is a low-to-medium pressure product.
→ Constant dragging over concrete or steel decks, unless the hose is protected with rope lagging which we offer
