Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC) recently held an engagement session with the Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Sabah, Ir. Ts. Haji Zulkifly Sulaiman, in relation to the proposed SEC LSSPV 15MWac Project at Kg. Laya-Laya, Tuaran.

The session was attended by SEC Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Ts. Ahmad Jafar, together with representatives from SEC as the Project Owner and the appointed EPCC Contractor. Discussions focused on the overall project implementation, upcoming construction activities, safety and health management plans, as well as compliance with relevant regulatory requirements throughout the project phase.

The engagement reflects SEC’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the project is carried out safely and responsibly, while maintaining close cooperation with relevant authorities in support of Sabah’s sustainable energy development efforts.

The newly appointed Chairman of Perkasa Hotel Holdings Sdn Bhd (PHHSB), YBhg Datuk Flovia Ng, together with her delegation, recently paid a courtesy visit to SEC Chairman, YBhg Datuk Annuar Ayub, at Menara SEC. Also present was SEC's Head of Human Resources & Administration, Puan Dayang Kamariah Datu Bistari.

The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on potential areas of collaboration, particularly in supporting SEC’s corporate and hospitality-related requirements through the services offered by PHHSB.

As state-owned entities, SEC and PHHSB play important roles in supporting Sabah’s development agenda, and greater cooperation between state-linked entities is seen as a positive step towards strengthening the local economy while creating wider benefits for the people of Sabah.

Both parties are looking forward to building closer cooperation and exploring opportunities that could bring long-term value to the State and its people.

Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC) conveyed its congratulations to the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) and Sabah FC following the team’s success in winning the MFL Challenge Cup title last April, marking a proud moment for Sabah football and its supporters.

In conjunction with the occasion, SEC also extended a financial contribution to SAFA as part of its continued support for football development in the state.

The contribution was presented by SEC Chairman, YBhg Datuk Annuar Ayub, to SAFA Vice President, YB Datuk Fairuz Renddan. Also present were SEC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Ts. Adzmir Abdul Rahman, SAFA Secretary-General, Tuan Shamsuddin Mohd Shah, and SAFA official.

The contribution also in line with the company’s aspiration to contribute meaningfully to community growth and the well-being of the people. SEC hopes SAFA will continue strengthening the grassroots and professional football development in Sabah, while nurturing local talent and enhancing the state’s presence in the national football scene.

𝐒𝐄𝐂, 𝐏𝐃𝐑𝐌 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐆𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄

Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC), in a continued effort to strengthen the safety and security of Sabah’s critical energy infrastructure, recently carried out a joint patrol and security risk assessment along the PL86 natural gas pipeline Right of Way (R.O.W.) in Tuaran, covering the areas of Kg. Gayang, Kg. Batangan, and Kg. Karambunai Baru.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) through the Tuaran District Police Headquarters (IPD Tuaran), with participation from PETRONAS representatives. The patrol aimed to identify potential security threats, Right of Way encroachments, and other risks that could affect the safety and integrity of SEC’s gas infrastructure.

The engagement also reinforced strategic cooperation between SEC and PDRM in safeguarding critical utility assets, while ensuring the wellbeing and safety of nearby communities.

As part of the programme, representatives from PDRM were also brought on a visit to SEC’s LSSPV 15MWac project site at Kg. Laya-Laya, Tuaran, where they were given an overview of the company’s ongoing solar energy development initiatives and commitment towards sustainable energy transition in Sabah.

SEC extends its appreciation to all parties involved, particularly the Tuaran District Chief of Police, YDH SUPT. Noraidin bin Ag. Maidin, and officers from IPD Tuaran, for their strong commitment, cooperation, and continued support in preserving the safety, security, and integrity of the state’s energy infrastructure.
