If you've been an active member of a forum, you would understand the joy of sharing, helping others, and receiving their help. People are willing to find difficult answers on their own, they save useful information they receive as their treasure. Unfortunately, anonymity is a requirement for a perfect world. Nobody likes to bring their past, their status, or achievements outside of the forum into discussion.
Becoming a contributor and earning numbers on the screen is more rewarding than earning money. People criticise honestly and hundreds will give their thanks sincerely. The status you earned anonymously isn't used to diss you for being a person unworthy of your flaws and your successes. This is why online social games can be fun, until you bring your real life identity into it that is. When face to face, people are more prone to spend time judging others for what they're worth.
It may not be a popular opinion among capitalists, but the rise of remote work may be a positive step towards a better world where you are valued for what you do.
