Last week, YTL Construction was delighted to be invited to speak at the 2nd ASEAN Automotive and Mobility Conference organised by PwC Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii).
Natasha Zulkifli, Director of Stakeholder & Business Development at YTL Construction, joined speakers from Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD), Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and Grab Malaysia for a panel discussion moderated by PwC Malaysia, alongside industry leaders and policymakers shaping the future of mobility in ASEAN.
During the session, Natasha shared insights from the 192km Gemas-JB Electrified Double Track Project, delivered by SIPP–YTL JV. She spoke about the strong demand for the rail line and how it reflects the growing need for better connectivity between cities in Malaysia. Projects like these are not just about moving people faster, but about improving access, creating opportunities, supporting businesses and bringing communities closer together.
The discussion also explored how mobility today goes beyond transportation alone. Topics included urban design, integrated planning, predictive modelling, data driven decision making and how technology can help cities better understand movement patterns, improve efficiency and plan for future growth.
A key takeaway from the session was clear: the future of mobility cannot be built in silos. Strong partnerships between government, infrastructure players, mobility operators and technology providers will be critical in building a smarter and more connected ASEAN mobility ecosystem.
