➤ So why should your cooling system keep operating as if they are? 😬

If your fans, pumps and chillers can't reduce their output to match the actual cooling demand, your building could be using far more energy than necessary!

What does that translates? It's beyond just comfort, it is energy being wasted.

In many cases, the culprit isn't the air-conditioning equipment itself. It's the control system... When sensors aren't calibrated, settings aren't optimized or the system isn't properly maintained, your building keeps cooling even when it doesn't need to.

A clean cooling tower isn't just about maintenance, it's about energy efficiency & occupant safety.

Many assume cooling towers consume a lot of energy.
In reality, they don't.
But here's what they do affect:

❄️ Chiller Efficiency
➤ If the cooling tower cannot reject heat effectively, the chiller works harder. A 1°C increase in cooling water return temperature can reduce chiller efficiency by 2–3%.

🦠 Health & Safety
➤ Poorly maintained cooling towers can become breeding grounds for bacteria such as Legionella, posing serious health risks to building occupants.

A chiller's efficiency isn't measured by its age, it's measured by its kW/RT....ㅤ
Let me break it down for you:
✅ Modern chillers can achieve 0.5 kW/RT
⚠️ Older chillers (10–15+ years) often operate at 0.8–1.0 kW/RT
🚨 Poorly maintained systems can reach 1.4 kW/RT
ㅤ
The higher the kW/RT, the more electricity your chiller consumes to deliver the same cooling capacity. Since air conditioning is typically the largest energy consumer in commercial buildings, an inefficient chiller can translate into hundreds of thousands... or even millions of additional electricity costs each year!
ㅤ
If your chiller is > 15 years old, it may be time for an energy audit. The potential savings could be far greater than you think. 🦾
