⚡ HANDS-ON WITH HIGH-STAKES ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS! ⚡

PiTC (FTK, UTHM) recently conducted the Operation and Maintenance of Low Voltage Switchboard (LVSB) course for Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan (FTK) students at UTHM Kampus Pagoh, held from 20–25 June 2026.

A total of 80 FTK students took part in this course, divided into 3 sessions of 2 days each, gaining essential knowledge and skills in the operation and maintenance of low voltage electrical systems.

Students started with reading Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and Three Line Diagrams (TLD) to understand electrical system configuration and connections, particularly for Air Circuit Breakers (ACB) 🔌 They were then introduced to key LVSB components — relays, contactors, busbars, meters, and ACBs — including hands-on charge and discharge processes.

The course also covered testing procedures for overcurrent relay and earth fault relay, giving students real exposure to critical fault-protection systems ⚙️

This course was delivered by Ir Ts. Ammar from Ares Energy Sdn Bhd, a competent electrical engineer specialising in high voltage systems (33kV and 132kV) — bringing real industry expertise straight to our students.
