In the modern world, you have infinite options. There are 7 billion people, of whom 4.66 billion are connected through the internet. Additionally, indecision can consume a significant amount of your time. Only say yes when you are fairly certain.

2. When confronted with what seems like even decisions, choose the one that feels most uncomfortable in the short term but is better in the long term.

Why?
Humans have a bias toward pain avoidance. Additionally, thanks to compound interest, you may be underestimating the long-term gains.
Hard choices lead to an easy life; easy choices lead to a hard life.

3. Peace of mind is the precursor to (long-lasting) happiness.
Make the choice that will lead you to a more equanimous state (a state in which you enjoy greater peace of mind and calm).
