What happens when two natural systems work together? 🌍♻️

At ATOZ, we combine Microalgae and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) systems into one connected ecosystem: AMES (ATOZ Modular Ecofusion System) 🌱🪰

Instead of solving environmental problems separately, AMES is designed to connect the cycle together—transforming food waste, capturing carbon, and creating valuable by-products at the same time.

Microalgae help absorb carbon and support regenerative agriculture, while BSF help convert food waste into useful resources like protein feed and fertilizer 🌾
Together, they form a more circular and holistic solution ♻️

Today, we already have 2 operational AMES sites—including one at Sekinchan and another at a primary school, where we aim to empower local farmers and inspire the next generation through education 💚

Tiny insect, huge impact 🪰♻️

After helping process food waste, Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae continue their journey by becoming something valuable.

The larvae themselves can be harvested as a nutrient-rich protein source for animal feed 🌱🐟
And even their frass (natural waste) can be turned into organic fertilizer that supports healthier soil and crops 🌾

From July 2025 to March 2026, ATOZ has collectively produced approximately ~3,000 kg of BSF larvae and ~2,000 kg of frass across our operation sites 🌍

Because in a circular system, waste doesn’t simply end—it transforms into new resources that can support local agriculture and food production ♻️

And this is only one part of the ecosystem we’re building 👀

🌱✨ Learning Through Hands-On Experience ✨🌱

What a wonderful day of discovery and learning at our BSF Workshop! Together, the children from Jollybeam 习悦补习中心explored the fascinating world of Black Soldier Flies (BSF) and learned how these tiny insects can help reduce food waste while protecting our environment.

From building their very own BSF cultivation boxes to engaging in interactive activities, every moment was filled with curiosity, creativity, and excitement. Seeing the children ask questions, share ideas, and get involved so enthusiastically made the experience even more meaningful.

The day continued with a delightful lunch at Algae Eats and a visit to our Experience Store, where the children had the opportunity to learn more about sustainable living in a fun and engaging environment.

Most importantly, we hope this workshop has inspired our young participants to become future environmental champions, proving that even small actions can make a big difference for our planet. 💚🌏

What if food waste never became waste in the first place? 👀♻️

Instead of sending food waste to landfills, we redirect it to one of nature’s most efficient recyclers: the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) 🪰

These beneficial insects consume organic waste quickly, helping prevent methane formation while transforming waste into useful by-products at the same time.

At ATOZ, we’re already putting this into action. Between July 2025 and March 2026, over 16,000 kg of food waste was redirected through our BSF operations—helping avoid over 22,600 kg of CO2 emissions 🌍

And this is only the beginning 👀

An exciting day of learning, discovery, and hands-on sustainability 🌱🪰

We recently hosted the Eco Hero @ BSF Workshop in collaboration with Jollybeam 习悦补习中心, where children aged 3 to 12 were introduced to the fascinating world of Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Through interactive activities, they learned how BSF helps transform food waste into valuable resources, and even built their very own BSF cultivation boxes to take home.

After the workshop, the little Eco Heroes enjoyed a delightful lunch at our café, Algae Eats, ending the day with smiles, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for nature-based solutions.

Together, we’re nurturing a greener future—one young mind at a time 🌍💚
