The Department of Manufacturing Technology is proud to collaborate with Kian Joo Can Factory (KJCF) in offering Work-Based Learning (WBL) courses.

Through this collaboration, we strongly believe that our students will gain valuable real-world industrial exposure and hands-on experience. By learning directly in an industry environment, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop practical skills, and better prepare themselves for their future careers.

Bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry experience, WBL is an important step towards nurturing industry-ready graduates.

🔬🏭 Industrial Visit to NOVA FRP SDN BHD

Yesterday, Dr. Chew Khoon Hee and Dr. Ong Thai Kiat had the opportunity to bring Product Development, Materials and Manufacturing Technology students on an industrial visit to NOVA FRP SDN BHD.

NOVA FRP specializes in the design and fabrication of customized fibreglass products for a wide range of industries. During the visit, students gained valuable exposure to real-world manufacturing practices and learned how polymer composite products are developed and produced to meet industry requirements.

The students were introduced to several important composite fabrication techniques, including:
• Hand Lay-Up Process
• Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM)
• Filament Winding Process

This visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to bridge classroom knowledge with industrial applications, enhancing their understanding of polymer composites, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements in the industry.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to NOVA FRP SDN BHD for their warm hospitality, insightful sharing, and commitment to supporting industry-academia collaboration. We look forward to more opportunities to strengthen the connection between education and industry.

A proud and meaningful moment for our department ❤️
Congratulations to all graduates! 🎓

Last Sunday marked a memorable Convocation Day as we celebrated the achievements of our graduates. We are especially proud to witness the graduation of the first cohort of Diploma in Manufacturing Technology (DGT) students — a historic milestone for the programme. Although small in number, these 3 pioneers have successfully paved the way for future generations.

Thank you to all lecturers, parents, family members, and friends who have continuously supported the students throughout their journey. Your encouragement and sacrifices made this success possible.

May all our graduates continue to shine, grow, and achieve even greater success in the future. Once again, congratulations and all the best in your next chapter! ✨
