SARES The Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification Scheme

The Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification Scheme or SARES Project was introduced by Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and Sarawak State Government to speed up efforts towards full electricity coverage in the state by utilizing renewable energy like micro-hydro in Sarawak's interior. This project aims to provide 24-hour electricity supply through application of alternative energy technologies to remo

te off-grid communities. Fifty (50) villages out of 300 isolated villages located in selected cluster of communities in remote areas have been identified under the SARES project.
