URGENT HIRING: Accounts / Finance (FULL SET) – CONSTRUCTION
Location: Kuching, Sarawak
We are looking for an accounts/finance person who can “rescue” a construction set of accounts: clean up records, perform bank reconciliations, do month-end closing, and provide management reports that help the owner make decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Not just data entry)
1) 3-Year Catch-Up (Project Recovery)
Collect and organize documents (claims/progress billing, suppliers, subcontractors, bank statements)
Perform monthly bank reconciliation and trace discrepancies
Month-end closing & adjustments: accruals, prepaids, depreciation
Complete full set accounts until fully current
2) Construction Accounting (Must understand project workflows)
Record progress claims/invoices, retention, and variation orders (VO) (if applicable)
Track project costs: materials, subcontractors, overheads (by project)
Manage AP/AR, aging, customer follow-ups, and vendor/subcon payment schedules
3) Month-End Closing & Management Reporting
Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and simple Cashflow report
Margin/expense analysis by project (if required)
4) SST Readiness + Audit/Tax Support
Set up invoicing/records for smooth SST implementation when registered
Prepare schedules and supporting documents for auditors/tax agents
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
Is hands-on with full set accounts, strong in bank reconciliation & closing
Has experience handling catch-up/backlog work
Is meticulous and able to build SOPs/internal controls (audit trail, prevent duplicate payments, vendor verification)
If you can clear the backlog fast and act as the finance PIC for SOP & SST, the compensation range can be considered accordingly.
