On 6 August 2026, SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. was privileged to welcome YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), during his official visit to strategic high-technology industries that are driving Malaysia's next phase of industrial growth.
The Minister was accompanied by a distinguished delegation comprising senior representatives from MITI, MIDA, CREST and MATRADE. The delegation was warmly received by SilTerra Chairman, Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, together with our CEO, Matthew Tan Hooi Sin, and members of the Management Team.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase SilTerra's advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, our growing global customer base, and our technology roadmap in enabling next-generation applications. Discussions focused on the rapid evolution of AI-driven semiconductor demand, the increasing importance of silicon photonics, and Malaysia's opportunity to strengthen its position within the global semiconductor value chain through innovation, advanced manufacturing and strategic partnerships.
The delegation also toured SilTerra's specialised silicon photonics production facilities, where they gained first-hand insights into the technologies powering the future of AI infrastructure, high-speed optical communications, data centres and next-generation computing. An engaging dialogue followed on industry challenges, talent development, regulatory facilitation and collaborative initiatives to accelerate the growth of Malaysia's semiconductor ecosystem in line with the aspirations of the National Semiconductor Strategy.
