INTERNAL BASIC SDS AWARENESS & CHEMICAL DRILL EXERCISE
On 25 September 2026, Internal Basic SDS Awareness & Chemical Drill Exercise was conducted to enhance employeesβ awareness and understanding of chemical safety in the workplace. The training focused on the importance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the proper procedures for handling chemical-related hazards and emergencies.
During the training, employees were introduced to the basic information contained in an SDS, including chemical hazards, safe handling and storage requirements, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response precautions. This session helped employees understand how to refer to SDS information when handling chemicals and during emergency situations.
In addition to the awareness session, a practical chemical drill exercise was carried out to provide employees with hands-on experience in responding to a simulated chemical incident. The exercise covered key response procedures such as identifying the incident, using the appropriate PPE, reporting and notifying the relevant personnel, controlling the spill, and following evacuation procedures where necessary.
The practical drill allowed employees to apply the knowledge gained during the training in a controlled environment. It also reinforced the importance of remaining calm, following established emergency procedures, and prioritising personal safety when dealing with chemical incidents.
Overall, the training aimed to strengthen employeesβ chemical safety awareness and improve their readiness to respond safely and effectively to chemical-related emergencies. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, employees were better equipped to understand workplace chemical hazards and contribute towards a safer working environment.
