Why do some liquids spread easily on a surface, while others form droplets and roll off? 💧 That behavior tells us a lot about the surface itself.

The DataPhysics OCA 25 is an optical contact angle measuring and drop shape analysis system designed to help researchers study exactly that. By analyzing the shape of a droplet on a material, the OCA 25 can evaluate wettability, surface energy, and surface and interfacial tension, important parameters for understanding how materials perform in real applications. It features precise manual positioning in X, Y, and Z, support for different dosing systems, and high-speed recording of up to 4276 fps for fast wetting processes.

One of the most interesting examples of contact angle science in nature is the Lotus Effect 🌿. Water droplets bead up and roll off lotus leaves, taking dirt particles with them. This self-cleaning behavior shows why contact angle measurement matters in surface science and material development.

With the OCA 25, droplet behavior becomes measurable data, turning surface interaction into practical insight for research, development, and quality control. 📊
