Solar ATAP update!

A quick summary of the key points:

👉 No fixed quota (limits may be introduced if grid stability is affected)

👉 The previous NEM principle stays — excess solar can still be exported to the TNB grid

👉 Export offset rates will be market-based:
• Businesses: System Marginal Price (SMP)
• Homes: The prevailing electricity energy charge

👉 Solar system size capped at 100% of maximum demand, to prioritise self-consumption.

👉 Residential solar installation limits set at 5kW (single-phase) and up to 15kW (three-phase)

Official guidelines will be issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga on 31 Dec 2025, with applications opening via SEDA Malaysia from 1 Jan 2026.

Overall, this is a step toward a clearer, more structured rooftop solar framework in Malaysia.

ST has confirmed that the new Solar ATAP guidelines will be published on 31 December 2025, with applications beginning 1 January 2026.

We know many are planning their 2026 energy strategy, and Sunview will continue to decode these updates and guide both businesses and homeowners through the transition.

We attended the SIRIM Industry event and received a certification for our participation in the ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System. It’s a standard many companies follow, but an important one – keeping our people and worksites safe.

It was a pleasant evening with welcoming people and meaningful chats. Always good to be reminded why safety matters in every project we touch. 😊
